Now what?

I've never seen an SM3, or a Trident launch. But do you understand that you are seeing an exhaust plume, not the rocket itself?

ok, well im just tellin ya i clearly saw it going from south to north along the coast, and i was on the beach... it got past our point, more like it was directly in front on long beach.. then it slowed down, the plume expanded, a ton of blue gas was everwhere and it was clearly pointing toward the coast as it did this.. show me a vid of when it fell apart and youll have a better idea of what this was and how dangerous this "test" was.. it was in public airspace as well.. no bueno, but please find the vid of it breaking apart.. suprising no one has posted that yet..

I knew it wasn't VAFB.

Good to get clarification that it wasn't Aliens though.

And I said if it wasn't ship launched. An SLBM is ship launched.

So, it was not "clearly was heading towards the coast."

It didn't "fall apart." The trident is a three stage rocket, you witnessed a stage separation at very high altitude, outside the atmosphere.

it was heading directly towards the coast as i was coming apart
Directly toward the coast? Or "south to north along the coast?"

Here is a description from someone who understood what they were looking at:

im not explaining this right.. it was south to north THEN it slowed THEN IT SHIFTED TOWARDS THE COAST and AS IT WAS BREAKING UP it let out a massive blue cloud... find a vid of it breaking up... and you can tell me what i didnt see

It wasn't breaking up. The first stage dropped off and the second stage ignited.

It looked like it did but the Trident is a three stage rocket. If you've never seen it it appears that it fell apart as the first stage burns out. Especially at night.

Just saw a huge green fireball over Cincinnati S-N followed by a dim grouping of amber lights headed N-S retracing the previous path.

Less than 30 mins ago.

Y'all are talking about the same thing except they are using the word 'separated' and you are saying 'breaking apart', which is essentially the same case here.
Please just say you saw it 'separate' and everybody will be happy.

my two.

That's exactly what a stage separation looks like. The first stage drops off, there's a cloud of fuel that hasn't burned that spreads out creating a cloud around the stage. Then the second stage ignites and it continues on while the first stage falls into the ocean.

It does sound scary though. It's seems like they would have given them some notice it was going to happen to prepare them for it. I mean, in that one vid it looked like it was coming directly towards the guy, and he didn't know what to expect. I would have been scared too.

But your explanations are awesome. Thank you.
