Come on guys? It's CoD season

New Black Ops game out and we don't have a thread up yet?

What do you guys think? I know CoD has it's fair share of haters, but it has a lot of hardcore fans as well...me being one of them. I love the hectic fast paced action as I cannot be bothered with slow paced games...anyway I just got this game...I've only managed to play a few online matches and I'm still getting accustomed to the new maps...Gun recoil seems like it will be something that it takes a little while to get used to, as it's significantly higher than in previous CoD games.

The new movement and jet packs are different from Advanced Warfare as well..The new jetpacks don't boost you as high as the ones from Advanced Warfare, they also last a shorter amount of time.

Wall running is nice

what do you guys think?

We don't need yet another CoD game with the same exact multiplayer formula as the last 5-7 games.
CoD games just get worse every year,I'd like to seem them completely fail and fall off the map permanently.
Unless they go back to WWII and stop making half-assed games,I'm completely done with the series as a whole.
On another note they charge way to much for their games made with minimum effort, they have horrible SinglePlayer so no one really plays it,people really only play for the MP,so they should only be about $30 max,or less.

The only decent Cods were:

CoD 1(MP and SP)Great
CoD 2(MP and SP)Great
CoD 4(MP and SP)Great
CoD WaW(MP and Zombies)decent
CoD MW2(MP only)decent
CoD Black Ops(MP only)decent
CoD Black Ops 2.(MP only)pretty good

Just like advanced warfare, the game play just seems too fast paced to be enjoyable. Even when im on my (completely legitimate) adderal prescription.

Other then that - I don't totally regret buying it. It's good if you don't want to think and just want to mindlessly use your reflexes.

Hardline is disappointing. BF4 is still pretty pimp. Baught premium though and no one #ing plays the DLC. so that pisses me off. (PS4)

Looks like a good CoD for the new generation consoles. Its a fun fast game but I dont like the lack of teamwork and amount of kids. Also, its hard to get excited about a game that basically comes out with a slightly improved version of the same game every year.

I also have to mention the kids again.. Nothing worse than getting owned by 12 year olds and hearing them yell about it.

I'm not necessarily a CoD hater but I really don't like the game anymore. For me it's getting really old. The last CoD I played was Black Ops 2 and I did enjoy it but I don't think I could play another CoD again
The game I'm personally really looking forward to is Overwatch. Can't wait!!!

I'm quite the opposite. Every COD game ive played has an excellent Campaing. Its the online i dont like...when it comes to COD that is.
I play battlefield for the Online. You wanna talk about a GARBAGE campaign?! Try BF's...they are a disappointment. But their MP is second to none!

I bought the game, and it is pretty much what I thought it would be.

I would say this would be the best black ops game, but all of that is overshadowed that these types of games have been done to death for so many years that ultimately the formula needs to be redone from scratch, and I dont just mean this game but all FPS games.

But saying that it delivers on what COD or black ops is about, has a fun multiplayer, it may not be the most tactical and there is virtually no teamwork going on in most games.

But the game is fun, and if your like me just looking for something to wind down and kill some 3 hours at the end of the day then ya Black Ops 3 delivers on that, its not new, its not revolutionary, but it works. One thing though, I never played these games for the Story/campaign mode, but this game may have the best campaign from all the other black ops games its actually pretty interesting for the short time I got into it.

Also zombies mode though I will play on it when I get more into it and when I get some people to play with me is pretty fun, it even has a new game plus in the campaign mode that after you beat the story you can replay it only now all the enemies are zombies and such. Its silly wacky fun and should keep people coming back to the campaign after they beat it.

On to the multiplayer online side. Its pretty much black ops 2 with a few added features, even some of the maps are redone from black ops games only with a bit of a twist. Personally I like the wall running and all the different classes you get to choose, it just ads a bit more layers to the game, but ultimately it plays like past games, I like that they didnt go all out there with the jumping and wall running so you have a little stamina meter so as to not spam it continuously, and really your more likely to get shot trying to do fancy wall running or jet pack hijinks then playing it more down on the ground and slow and steady, ultimately it balances out.

The only thing that they should have really done is make more maps and more huge maps, I mean something along the lines of Battlefield or Halo size maps. The maps fell cramped and to repeating, and with the new mechanics you can really get around them pretty fast, if they made more huge maps the game would play out a lot better and it would be more on the technical strategical side instead of the run and gun side like it is now.

Hopefully they will add something like that in the future updates, but as it stands now, this is the best COD black ops game out there. Like I said its not revolutionary, but it is more fun then the last few COD games which came out, if people are comparing this to modern warfare, even though both games have the same sort of game mechanics like the jet pack and slides, they really do play out completely differently. I played Modern Warfare and it sucked, did not like it, but the way they did those same mechanics in black ops 3 it just feels like it fits.

We got a copy home at about 1a.m.
It still hadn't installed three and a half hours later.....then when that finished it started another download which to be honest I just left because I got really pissed off at that point.
Microsoft are a joke. 3+1/2 hrs to install is a joke. Paying £50 for a game is a joke.
Having to download a 3gb patch on day zero is a joke.

I spent endless hours on waw trying to get past wave 20 odd. Playing it online was great too. Good times. Mw2 and 3 wernt bad either, maps were pretty easy to remember. Shame about all the campers though hey

In my opinion, multiplayer FPS misses the point entirely. I hate team work in computer games. I like bestriding the battlefield with no support, slaying thousands of sprites by sheer willpower and spite alone, and dominating the space without having to think about anything other than where I am, and where the enemy is.

I do not want a buddy, I do not want a squad around me. I want all the guns, and to keep all the kills for myself, thank you very much. I play for catharsis, and there is nothing cathartic about team based shooter games. It's just intensely aggravating, has no plot, and does not engage me in the least.

You see, in a computer game there is no such thing as the law. All there are, is bullets in your mag, and bastards that have to die. In computer game land therefore, I like to think that if there are character models which are moving, and are not mine, that they should be ventilated until they cease to move. Any game which features too many totally vital NPCs or other players, bores me. I want to burn the world in computer games, riddle everything that I can see with holes and sorrow, and make even little chunks of code with an AI controller learn the meaning of fear.

I have no time for this soft, buddy movie nonsense that FPS has turned into. Give me Duke Nukem over any of these bloody team based shooters! It is simply better, more relaxing. A multi barrelled shotgun to the face of your enemy has a very calming effect after all, and if your team mate steals your kill, that becomes aggravating, absolutely immediately.

Seems ok so far, suppose it will do until Fallout 4 appears on the 10th.

Edit: Seems there is an issue while running this title in conjunction with Core i5 CPUs, stuttering and other general FPS problems. Easily resolvable buy editing config.ini file located in the players directory so "worker threads = 2" instead of 4.

I totally agree. I played the beta of Hardline and well, I didn't buy it. Happy about that too. BF4 has great DLC, I have premium as well, but I know what you mean about no one playing it. Mind you, there is usually a server or two that do play DLC quite often, but you have to be willing to suck it up and play in hardcore mode. Personally I don't play in any other mode other than hardcore, I don't see the point in anything else.

I think the Community Operations may help bring more players to DLC though, as it's for everyone and will show that there is a bonus to getting more maps...lots more maps. Apparently a map from BF2 for BF4 is in the works for the next add-on.

If ya have PS3 feel free to add me under this name.

I can never understand this logic why the hell do people claim that running around getting killed = skills?
