Thanks for that!! I don't have any doubts he was taken out. This article didn't convince me further, I was already convinced, but it's an interesting read with more information. If there weren't any rumors of murder I would be very surprised. He was too high-profile.

An aside -- what a gorgeous, stunning photo of him and his pregnant wife. How devastating for her!! If he was only "disappeared" and not killed I hope they can be reunited at some point. Hmm.

I'm not sure on the part of him turning FBI informant, forced or otherwise. Perhaps. Forced I could consider.

Yeah this whole story feels very anachronistic - like a throwback to the 80s late Cold War era. It almost feels like a made for TV thriller with the media mogul and the beautiful pregnant wife. It is crazy

Something sticks in my mind but may be irrelevant -- going back to when Putin's bodyguard was assassinated in public, Putin disappeared for a while. ("Where's Putin?" was the theme.) After some time a different Putin began making appearances and people were extensively discussing this change on the Internet. The pictures in the linked Daily Mail article of Lesin and Putin are old enough to show the former Putin. They were tight at one time. I don't know why but something about Lesin and the newer Putin gives me an odd feeling. I can't explain it. I thought I would make a note of it here in the hopes it stops bugging me.
