“That’s the entire relationship – they hired him to speak a couple of times,” said Barry Bennett, Mr. Carson’s campaign manager.
That’s not what Mr. Carson said in 2011, when he got a round of applause by telling Mannatech associates that the company had donated funds to help him get a coveted endowed post at Johns Hopkins Medicine, according to a video of the event. Mannatech removed the video from its website last week after inquiries from The Wall Street Journal.
“Well three years ago I had an endowed chair bestowed upon me,” Mr. Carson said in his “Keynote Address” at a 2011 Mannatech convention. “And uh, it requires $2.5 million to do an endowed chair and I’m proud to say that part of that $2.5 million came from Mannatech.”
Despite that statement, the Carson campaign now says “there was no contribution from Mannatech to Johns Hopkins.” A spokesman added: “It was a legitimate mistake on his part. Confusion. He had been doing some fundraising for the hospital and some other chairs about that time, and he simply got things mixed up.

This guy seems to get mixed up quite a bit.

So ... given the apparent desperate attempts on the part of Dr. Carson's followers (as we see here) to explain away any lies he tells or mistakes he makes ... do you think these ever-mounting discrepancies are going to have any effect on his popularity?

What do you think?

Many failed shots at Trump that helped him, now a barrage at Carson. Cruz is next. Keeping their powder dry on Rubio and Jeb because they are the most liberal republicans, and the preferred opponent by the DNC and socialists.
"Later I was offered a full scholarship to West Point. I didn't refuse the scholarship outright, but I let them know that a military career wasn't where I saw myself going. As overjoyed as I felt to be offered such a scholarship, I wasn't really tempted. The scholarship would have obligated me to spend four years in military service after I finished college. ..."
Carson, in his book, claims to have met Westmoreland on Memorial Day after being chosen to march in a Detroit parade.
"[A]ccording to records of Westmoreland's schedule that were provided by the U.S. Army, the general did not visit Detroit around Memorial Day in 1969 or have dinner with Carson. In fact, the general's records suggest he was in Washington that day and played tennis at 6:45 p.m. There are, however, several reports of an event in February of that year, similar to the one Carson described."

And having said that I just can't imagine Carson surviving. There is a recent history of the GOP leaders at this point in the election cycle flaming out. But things seem so weird this time around.
However, I'm certain there is big money and powerful influences in the Republican party and the corporatocracy that want him to go away.
As I've posted before, as soon as I read the marketplace interview with him referring to the gold standard I instantly became convinced what is going on now was about to happen. Might be no connection and just delusions of grandeur on my part; it's happened before.
Another point. He did lose his temper at that press conference. Maybe he did have a violent temper as a youth and has kept it under control for decades until now. However, you can also be sure there is plenty of effort going on right now to find out if there is anything in his long career that contradicts that narrative. I wouldn't be surprised to see first hand accounts from subordinates start to surface next.

From Carson's book

When Politico made Carson aware that...(A) Westpoint is tax-payer funded and doesn't have scholarships and (B) Westpoint has no record of him ever applying or being accepted there..
He changed his story to claiming that General Westmorland offered him an "Appointment" at Westpoint verbally over lunch..
Carson, in his book, claims to have met Westmoreland on Memorial Day after being chosen to march in a Detroit parade.
But...the facts still haunt his BS...

General Westmorland died in 2005, so Carson figured he could say what he likes..
These are just the facts...

Only one final observation on this failed campaign - Carson will benefit from it.

Dept Heads run hospitals. Keep saying "nuh-uh". It's a hoot !
Carson didn't lie about anything you "quote", because your "quotes" aren't actually real quotes, they're your version of what you say was said by Politico. That's kind of pitiful.
"His Campaign" doesn't have a mouth or a voice. "It" didn't "already admit" anything.
Give us direct quotes from the book, or direct quotes from people, and we will stop laughing at your gyrating.

No they don't, they manage departments...
They have no say in how it's run they manage what others above them decide is for the best way for a departmebt to be run!
Having worked in a hospital for 6 years under 6 different Heads of Department that much becomes petty obvious when you see them scratching their heads after a meeting with those who RUN the Hospital.
