At egyptian airports you get scanned twice but the quality of those scans is...obligatory.
Been to every airport there and it´s always the same. If your passport shows a decent amount of egyptian visas and a good morning in egyptian, you´re just waved through.

Edit: Should show how tight the field-security around the planes is...
Edit2: Never take a satphone with your trip to egypt. Could be your last trip there.

I'm not shocked at all by this. I've seen terribly lax security at numerous airports. One airport in particular we were hurried through security (11 of us) without screening for fear of missing the plane.

that is exactly what i meant , a package could have been sent without screening too and it doesn't cost much to do so .
