seconds. Not bad; modern airliners typically take 30 to 40 seconds for take-off.
How long is that rail-gun they use for launch? s = (1/2) at^2. Oops. That gives me 29 kilometers, almost 20 miles. That is a massive railgun. A
wonderful target for acts of terrorism. Add a few more supercapacitors and perhaps it could be used for intercontinental ballistic launches as well.
