The question is loaded, of course. Omitting the 'supposed to', never more reason than present. it is far and away the most stable gov't in the ME.

It is a democracy.

It allows all forms of religion to be practiced which follows the policies of the U.S..

As Crazywok has said, they have the capability to handle the issue themselves, better to have an influence in their policy making by the usual monies given....not like we don't give other ME countries money and arms.

Israel is an ally.

There are too many vocal people who equate not opposing Israel, with support.

Because they indirectly pay your Congress to support Israel on the one hand and because the religious crazies who are either in pr pressure Congress want to. The billions sent to Israel would never pass a popular vote. Ever. Not when this country's crumbling.

the history is, Israel, with few exceptions, has had the most stable govt. in the region. That is a big positive in explaining why the US has allied itself.

Not to mention, its location near several strategic areas. Oil fields, and the Suez Canal.

Both of those reasons are part and partial to why. Good reasons, IMHO.

The figures stated in the video do not agree with the official ones.

Aid provided to Israel is tiny in comparison other middle eastern (and Muslim) countries (like Syria, which has just been approved to receive an increase of aid due to the current crisis there).

The perception that Israel is funded more than other middle eastern countries is false.

Because idiot Christian politicians and the Israelis themselves both think that Israel is the chosen land and that they are the chosen ones. That's why they are so obnoxious, personally I wish they would make beach wear stores illegal, especially since they don't have to pay taxes, because they are the chosen ones. These are requests, not the amounts actually disbursed. These figures are prior to decisions being made in government as to how to allocate the aid budget.

I always thought it was part of the agreement back in '48 or whenever when the UK/US set up the state of Israel that they would support them financially and or Militarily.

No where in that article does it say the words suicide attack. It only talks about Palestinians who were imprisoned by Israel.
