Putin: No need to distinguish between ‘moderate’ & other terrorists

There can be no "moderate" terrorists, President Putin said, speaking about the situation in the Middle East at the Valdai discussion forum.

"Why play with words dividing terrorists into moderate and not moderate. What's the difference?" Putin told the forum.

A whole "snarl" of terrorist groups act in the region, who fight also against each other for "sources of income" and not for ideology, Putin said, adding that the weapons provided to "moderate" opposition in the region had ended up in the hands of terrorists.

Some countries are playing a double game, the Russian president said, adding that while they fight against terrorism they also "place figures on the board" in their own interests.

Well, talk about, confirming what some of us have been talking about as of late, regarding the situation in Syria. Here is a recent comment of mine regarding this shared sentiments.

I can't tell the difference between a "moderate" or "radical" rebels. They all are terrorists, it's just all a play on words to make Assad look bad. The same kind of picture that paint on Putin as well...

Apart from the Terrorist comments, Putin also touched on the following points.

1. US 'deceived' the world about Iran's nuclear program
   
2. Nuclear Threats from US
   
3. Europe is America’s ‘vassal’ in US sanctions policy
   

There is a possibility that US anti-missile shield bases in Eastern Europe might be used for offensive weapons, the president said, adding that it may be regarded as a threat to Russia. A dialogue on limitation of strategic nuclear forces should be continued, Putin added.

"This is a very dangerous scenario, harmful for all, including the United States itself," the Russian president told the forum.

There can be no winner in conflicts involving nuclear weapons, the Russian leader said.

If anything, Russia is really stepping up to the US and now openly accusing the US, about it's "unfair competition" in their trade wars.

Trade and sanctions wars show “unfair competition” on the US side, the Russian president said, commenting on current political and economic relations in the world. Moral norms should be considered in international, political, military and economic rivalry, Putin said, adding that otherwise the competition could get out of control.

“Russia could also declare the necessity to democratize the USA, but that would, at a minimum, be impolite,” Putin told the discussion forum.

I am just wondering what the US response is going to be on points raised against the US?

Yah, only the US needs to divide it up into good and bad terrorists.

At the end of this war I want to see the USA and all of it's partner who supply and arm these evil SOB's dragged to the Hague and strung up for war crimes against humanity. Yes Obama and Cameron I want to see you pay for the crimes you have committed in the name of the western world.

I'm sure Putin is very tired of the sanctions against Russia, and will say anything to get things back in his favor, but not to say the U.S. is an innocent little darling either. I do think Russia is slightly more ruthless than the U.S.

Nit picking I see. That doesn't make the rest of his comments irrelevant does it? He only mentioned the possibility of this systems turned into offensive weapons, was what I understand from his comments.

Are you sure, you believe it's all defensive missile shields? We can never know what intelligence infor he has on this so called defensive missile systems.

im former military I know how those systems work, my point is if the guy can start out with blatant lies trying to stir up discontent and fear mongering, then shouldnt what else he has to say be given a critical eye

As usual, Putin is right on some points, biased in others as Russia's leader, but the bottom line is Putin IS expansionist.

Now he is placing a permanent military force in the Arctic. I didn't bother chasing down the exact location of the base, but the only potential block to his expansionist aims is the U.S..

So he's moved south, west and now north. Irrefutable.

My view is let him bleed out a bit in the ME. Both militarily and economically. Place some F-22s in Israel, Germany or England, follow up with F-35s. Maintain the low oil prices as long as possible...or until he shows his hand and forces an ME escalation which drives up those oil prices...to his profit.

So you are saying they cant be used on aircraft that fly near the border of a country that has these anti-missile weapons. That it is impossible for them to take down an aircraft and can only work against missiles.

I don't see Putin as the "Knight in shining armor" kind, but I do see escalating tensions between the Russia and US over Syria.

It's the daily news, that is filled with accuses coming from each side, that it seems sooner or later, words are bound to become actions.

Generally, my intention of posting such information is also to highlight some truth in his sentiments, about the US dealings with terrorist groups, and also to point out the divided stance between Russia and US on the Syrian Crisis.

Unlike the cold war era, the two nations are of course fighting proxy wars in Syria, an they've been at it in MSM accusing each other to gain the morale high ground.

It's that escalating tensions that I pay much attention to, as anything can materialize out of accuses sooner or later.

ok for some reason I think you will be a person who will understand me .. this usa calling out is not going to help here not on ats.. as people I see proud patriotism so they have the right to feel proud as a nation ..I don't even know where you are from not from this planet in my opinion anyway.. I hear what is said here laud and clear but it doesn't bring no one to the negotiation table there is nothing transparent about the delegation from no side.. no one not eu not Russians no Americans not the rest of the world has clear transparent view on this .. who can you believe why would you believe.. Putin is the kind of leader you want in charge of your country. He calls it like he sees it and says what he means. Instead we have the weak and timid Obama whose crowning achievement was actually making our health care system worse.

Well that's the sad reality you've just outlined, but what we can do is expose this lies and bringing the Truth out so many people can be informed and choose for themselves what they think is going on Syria.

I try not be biased as much as possible or take sides, and try to see the possible outcomes of this media ramblings, if anything blame it on the blood moon...lol

All this news, perhaps is a tipping point for us a civilization to move forward or demised ourselves due to our own doing.

A majority of people in this world would rather live in Peace and Harmony but a few crazy people see it fit for us to go to war and create division.

I am neither from the East or the West, but from the South Pacific, and definitely a human being concerned about this rather disturbing developments and feel the need to share an opinion on this issues.
