Ok I think that all you guys who are doing the whole

"Vida games is bad Um kay"

Need to stop what you are doing and watch this

Then go Apologize to your kids/family members buy them a nice cpu with some good games and learn to play and embrace technology

Got kids?

Anywho...on the topic of your video, it has nothing to do with the topic at hand. Sure, video games improve reaction times and "visual acuity", but that is all she is pointing out.

She would also need to understand the brain of every individual out there playing games. There are many factors that go into the issues people have with not experiencing real social interaction, being engulfed in games does not help. She was not on TED talks promoting playing games all the time, she was saying it can improve certain aspects of brain functionality. Just like any other thing you have to learn in life improves brain functionality. The trouble is that gaming is addictive to many and it does cause/exacerbate anti-social behavior in plenty of people.

No we can attribute the "beta uprising" to psychopaths , and raising a whole generation of kids that have no spine and no ability to deal w adversity, politically correct cry babies , whose feelings get hurt at everything, but w no willpower or drive to get out there and be a man , make a change, grow a pair and DO SOMETHING!

/ end rant

Edit to add, me and my girl still play WOW together, still manage to hit the gym 6 days a week together, work full time jobs, travel, experience life and have fun

Everything else is just an excuse imho

Food for thought:

Your opinion may be what those people are upset about. These guys feel everyone sees them as weak crybabies that have no courage -- hence the reason they decide to go out the way they do.

These guys feel a need to show the world that they aren't as they've been stereotyped. It's weird, I know -- but just think about it for a second. There always seems to be a common thread of "proving something to someone/the world" with these folks.

Me? I partially blame society cocooning and isolating us while giving us the illusion of being connected. I think the internet and global telecommunications (MMO's too) are giving us a false sense of community. I think eventually that facade cracks and falls apart, exposing how truly alone they are, and that is beyond bearable for some.

Heh, I hit the gym too and if I spend to much PS4 time in Destiny-land, I get annoyed side glances. There's *always* a home improvement project or laundry to do it seems.

I hate home improvement. HGTV needs to go away, it inspires evil ideas.

I hear you.

I fantasize about the day I get everything finished restoring our Victorian.

Then I get nauseous thinking I will probably have to start all over again on the things I did first.

Oh, one more thing -- who are "they" that might be using WoW to "recruit"?

What is this group, organizational structure and origin? Who funds them? What are their end goals? Are "they" connected to a more comprehensive plot by a larger, more well-known organization or government?

Now that is where I would start looking -- to see if any think tanks or government research has been done with male anti-social behavior and the possibility for violence.0

I'd check studies and look at the names of the researchers. I'd take those names and see if those researchers are part of any think tanks...or what organizations they belong to. If any of them share anything in common, it might be a starting point to a larger conspiracy/plot.

I have played a LOT of killing games,
hmm! sounds bad but true.
but they have Never given me any feelings of going out and killing.

I think a film or book would do it more.
but the people would would do it
would do it Any way.

I wounder if jack the ripper played games killing prostitutes.

Isn't that some irony right there, eh?

They become the stereotype by hating the stereotype...

I think I derailed on your logic train here. How does WoW contribute to mass shootings?

Likely less the game but more the "community ".

Kinda like how the radicalisation of Islamic youth takes place.

I used to play MMORPG too.

Not saying saying everyone will full into that same trap.

Not every MMORPG player is a sad lonely virgin sitting in there mums basement angry with the world.

But such games do attract such people. And not just games but the reddit and youtube community of such a group too. And when you have a bunch of angry, disillusioned young men in one place radicalisation happens.

Infact ISIS has used MMORPG themselves to communicate to youths.

We never say such things as me and you were never the sort to bevome jihadis or become school mass shooters.

Im not saying WOW is the cause or it should be banned or anything. Just they do act as a social facilitator.

Well going by that logic, anything could be a stepping stone to terrorism.

I have to say that the only video game that ever made me want to kill someone was Dark Souls, and even then I only wanted the blood of those who created it.

I could see WOW being used as a place to recruit people, if there was such a thing as an organized beta uprising. It allows access to millions of people. It would be the perfect place for a group to recruit. I have played MMO's. I know the type of people that play MMO's. While not everyone on them is socially awkward. Many are, that is why they flock to an online community, and being socially awkward is one of the common threads among the people who have committed several of the recent mass murders. But just because it is possible does not mean it is or is not happening.

If WOW was triggering people to commit mass murder. You would think there would be even more mass murders than there are now. And that they would be happening around the world in equal numbers to the US. Because WOW's player base is world wide and in the millions.

Sure it can.

But at least it gives some avenues to watch.

Yes you are right, Nietzsche tells it like this you use a reason to do your real intention.. All of us are primates, we defend our territory,ADD and storytelling can smash a crater under right circumstances.. ADD are more non-human, they are targeted by someone twisted.. Cause if you target an adult it means you have a underlying motive of interest..
