Syrian Refugee Crisis (To use an over-used MSM phrase.

We can't trust the media. Either side of the story is skewed by biases and agendas.

At the moment ATS is full of threads in support of and against immigrants/asylum seekers from Syria. We all know both sides of the arguments but none of us know the truth.

Skewed videos, biased articles, sources from the BBC, Youtube videos by unknown reporters....

What about you guys in Europe... The Germans, the Swedes.... ATS members - It's time to get out there and take some videos, interview some people and report the truth.

Otherwise we're wasting our time like the rest of the populace who are happily ingesting either side of the argument.

I'd go out there myself but I'm in England - and so far in my area of the country all we've got is hot air from people who are on the dole and watch daytime TV.

I'd like to think I'm not biased on this one but I'm against religion on the whole for many reasons. But I'm also an avid hater of the media (propaganda) we are spoon fed daily.

What do you reckon ATS? We got any members in the areas supposedly most effected by the influx?

Also in the UK so cannot help I'm afraid but your thread highlights something that has been worrying me for awhile now.

It seems that what used to be subtle steering of opinion is now becoming outright manipulation, bare faced lies and obviously geared towards xenophobia and an outright attack on anything left wing.

I'm getting a bit of a thread together on something similar - watch this space. I've noticed though that there are some juxtaposing views/agendas coming out - For example the propaganda of the dead baby on the beach, clearly highlighted to let the UK population buy into an influx of asylum seekers. But this was closely followed by, as you rightly point out, xenaphobic propaganda. Hence this thread really... What is the truth?

We no longer have news agencies, they are propaganda distributors.

Nope. I think that the MSM manipulation of the ignorant is pretty damned well under control.

Just not by us.

I live in London and have to say the main concern about immigrants is the strain on services like schools, hospitals, housing etc. Not to mention jobs.

We have always had a high number if immigrants in the uk. Even when I was a child I was at school with children of many nationalities.

Also since the eu borders opened I did notice that many jobs reduced the wages due to cheap labour flowing through our borders. This did have an effect on working class and even middles class to some degree.

The current events though are a concern if im to be honest. The Muslim population do segregate themselves and this could become an issue in the future.

Thats a good angle for the website..recruit some investigative members to go and document these places so we can get a perspective from the horses mouth so to speak.....its the only way we will get close to the truth of it,the msm is so full of it the humor left long ago

It seems we need to differentiate between Syrian refugee and the current immigration crisis to immigration on a whole which has been going on for hundreds of years. It seems like some have confused the two I mean Muslims have been in the uk for hundreds of years, but people are confusing any Muslim with Syrian refugees and Isis. Many Asians from the sub continent came here hundreds of years ago, with the EIC east India company and others fought in the first and second world wars. Yet it seems many are putting all Muslim immigration down to the current crisis from Syria and lumping all Muslims as extremist Islamists

In Sweden we have a few zones where the fire department need police escort to do their work because of criminal elements within the immigrant community.

But it could have been dealt with harshly if Sweden was not so insanely soft on crime and had another way of thinking about law and order. Does not matter how good work our policemen do when the politicians and lawmakers screw up everything afterwards.

Sweden the land where if a thief/burglar get hurt during a thief/burglary the burglar can legally request money for the hurt from the real victim.

Is it a new emerging immigrant community or a long standing one? Where are the immigrants from? Any chance you can get out there and film some of this? Perhaps get some pictures? Speak to the local fire department?

The issue is not just immigrant but first generation Swedes and even native Swedes that are not making it in Sweden on the job market and have connection in the crime world. Swedish people become highly educated/over educated even and the employers are very picky on who they hire.

Mostly mixture of refugees from old Jugoslavia and middle east. Why bother getting pictures when this in fact have been reported for years in Swedish MSN.

There are zones in Stockholm, Göteborg, Malmö, Helsingborg and Landskrona that should have military presence from my point of view to clean out the criminal trash (including Hells Angels and other native Swedish criminal gangs) once and for all and keep the peace for the normal citizen no matter religion or race. If these criminal idiots where in custody/jail/insane asylum where they belonged these zones would be as peaceful as the rest of Sweden.

I really value your input and am more than open to learn. My point being though that we cannot trust the MSN so some ground level reporting from our membership would be beneficial. Hence why your input in the form of photos and quotes would be great.

With regards to native Swedes or Yugoslavian immigrants - that is not really the issue I'm interested in. It's all about finding out if the MSN is BS then figuring out what angle they are taking on it and why.

As far as I'm concerned, the MSM seems to be serving the purpose of dividing the viewers. It seems to tell us that these people need help and that they are fleeing war, while then showing masses of young and often belligerent men. They control the broadcast and if they really wanted it to look like typical refugees fleeing for their lives, then they could easily do that.

Television debate also seems to be overtly divisive and set up to shout down 'right wing' views with arguments of xenophobia and inhumanity, probably with the intent that anyone that shares their views will feel persecuted and become more aggressive.

The media isn't just about lying - it's psychological warfare.

I got an all-in-one & the picture file works just fine... I added a VIVATAR photo album to get pics from the street


the 8.1 seems designed specifically for social network activity including pics
(but my screen shots do end up in limbo somewhere in the bowels of this PC)

You know,this could be taken one step further. Have like an ATS news channel where the members of ATS report NOT their opinions,but only facts on the ground of what is going on. Lets say you see a riot going down where you live or hear about it. Grab your phone and start filming,all the while giving a running narrative of what you are seeing. Doesn't matter what the MSM ends up putting out there.You were there and recorded what you saw! We could get unbiased news from each other on certain events going on.

I know there is no way one of us could or would be everywhere all the time to record everything.But if we could catch certain key events,maybe we could start to unravel the MSM nonsense,not just for us,but maybe for everyone. Just don't get yourself hurt doing it,and only facts would be reported.

I agree there is an inordinate amount of extremists carrying out things like this in the Muslim religion, but that doesnt mean that Muslims need to be eradicated......

I also saw the kindness, the fear, and indeed the hope in scores of other Muslims eyes.........
I experienced the Hugs, the gifts, the welcoming us in for coffee and tea, and the begging to be helped with the situation they face from their own brothers and sisters of their OWN religion......

Excellent input - slaughter all Muslims in the quest for peace. I can't see anything wrong with that reasoning. Whatever is motivating your hatred - it's not healthy.

I have meet a few syrians that came through on legal channels.

Lovely people. Unlike other people from the ME (ie saudis ) they were very freindly down to earth people.

Honnestly id kick out a few thousand jobness Nigerians or iraqis/saudis/yemens and replace them with Syrians!

I think we should take more. But unfortunately we do have a housing /hospital /school crisis and it wont help anyone if we just go nuts like germany and just open the borders, plus there are still security concerns.
