Now I'm Convinced My Phone Listens

Today I was in a Business Law class for University and we were reviewing the topic of illegal law practices as it relates to stocks and trading etc. We covered the topic of Enron and how it became a big catastrophe. Great class but I have absolutely no interest in stocks, bonds or any of that stuff. I don't go researching this stuff at all. Ever. We watched the video "The Smartest Guys in the Room", I believe it was called, for an hour or so.

I had my cell phone in class as most people do, on the table. I didn't even pick the thing up. I get home, make a few burgers and do some web surfing on my phone. On one of my favorite metal sites is an ad called The Market Whisperer, A New Approach to Stock Trading. What in the heck. This is ridiculous. I was wondering if anyone has experienced the same thing. I have an Android phone.

I was talking about Perrier to people and now there are Perrier ads on here. These were conversations in person btw. Havent googled perrier or anything.

love that stuff though. go out and buy it.

It could just have happened that on that metal site they use Ad's for The Market Whisperer and you are making a connection where there wasnt one because a coincidence occurred ( I know , insert new agey sounding I dont believe in coincidences)
I mean I have seen all sorts of ridiculous ad's for very non-metal stuff on various metal sites unless those sites do not use ads.

Without knowing your search history prior to that ad showing up, without knowing how the video was watched their isn't enough info to make any sound determination though I am sure that people will soon be here proclaiming the evils of the 1% and how they control everything.

Still in my experience Occam explains the majority of things in life though his explanations are usually boring and not what people on conspiracy sites want to hear.

I wouldn't worry about it. Many sites I use for various things, movies etc, always seem to have some sort of stocks and shares ad even though I have never searched for it on my phone.

The dudes from Immortal pretty much only know how to look ridiculous in pictures and videos.
Too bad he left them though..it reduces a primary source of visual comic relief in my life..

All the time ! It is starting to freak me out. Just a lil bit. Can be after having a conversation, the same day, maybe within an hour or so and sometimes sooner. But I will check in to social media or browse a couple of sites, and there it is. The very topic that I have only just been discussing. It could be anything from the mundane to completely random or obscure even. But large as life, ads..or posts on the exact topic. It has gotten to the point that my family are now thinking its a form of telepathy or something on my part. I too am on an android. Galaxy 6S

I believe someone's listening. Who? I don't know but it's clearly a violation of our rights and the fourth amendment.

It's like this... if you buy a mercedes then you will start to notice them everywhere... This is what is happening, you have just never noticed these random ads before, but this time you did due to talking about it recently.

Anyway stocks and shares ads seem to be the big thing at the moment.. everytime I watch a youtube video now I get an ad telling me to download an ap for £10,000 in pretend money to start off...
I have never had an interest or googled this subject before..

That's possible. Anything is really but I hope no one has taking it that far to eavesdrop. Even the Xbox 1 is a bad idea. Who's on the receiving end of this stuff?

This stuff will rule your life if you let it... The only solution is to live in a cave in the mountains if your worried about some sort of spying... because in this current world every move you make is being either stored/monitered/recorded. . From your phone to your bank card even to your modern car... The X box 1 would be the least of my worries

My wife has this type of thing happen with her iPad all the time. We will be watching something on our tv through Netflix and at the same time look up the movie or tv episode on IMDb. Many times the exact scene that's on the tv will be the photo on IMDb. It's kinda freaky

It's all good either way..I dont want to turn your original post into a satire of metal dudes talking about obscure bands... and whats Tr00 and what isnt.. I dont think you can ever go wrong listening to Emperor but I also like to listen to Mournful Congregation if I want to chill with some solid funeral doom...

My girlfriend is getting her masters at the end of semester and we have been talking about were she was gonna work when she is done sure enough i get ads on my phone for colleges actively searching for teachers. thought it was weird

I listen to Alex Collier speak. If you've never listened to him check him out. Good to listen to when you're about to sleep or in the background. He spoke about Extraterrestrials creating objects out of thought and just unbelievable technology. I find some truth to his speeches.

I feel bad for the future generations (2030-2040) They're going to grow up with this as the norm
