Yeah that's what I thought too, odd that a flying disc has navigation lights - I mean, why would it need them? It had no strobe light though.

Maybe even this thing, when it comes in to land (wherever that is), needs nav lights too so it's easily visible to the naked eye as to it's proximity, and it's direction of travel.

That's why I am inclined to think it is man made.

I was just wondering if, since you said it was dark with a low cloud cover, perhaps the lights could have been giving the impression of rotation and an appearing/disappearing tail? A rotating beacon would turn at about the rate you described and some aircraft look just like flying saucers from certain angles. I didn't see it, so just asking.

I can see where you are coming from but was definitely not an aeroplane, it was as clear as can be a flying disc, the notch and light on the perimeter were moving round the perimeter as it rotated. It was also below the clouds not in it. The total lack of noise was also not aeroplane like.
