Hey i love sci fis especially classic black and white ones, i have watched all the classic ones, such as the day the earth stood still and all that, the time machine, time after time, and a lot of the 80s like back to the future etc.

I am just wondering if you know of any other sci fi films, classic from 50s onwards (not before the 50s though)

That do not contain deformaties/ gore/mutilation/ monsters well there can be a monster long as it isnt a huge ant or spider, (sorry im a wuss lol)

Anyway if you can reply id appreciate it

Do you mean actual classics from the 50's or just any sci-fi film?

Destination Moon
Invasion of the body snatchers
Incredible shrinking man

2001: ASO
Moon
Time Crimes
K-Pax
Coherence
Primer

Can't think at the moment.

Rosemary's Baby scared the heck out of me, when I was a kid when I was a kid, in the '70s. It is also a Roman Polanski flick with Mia Farrow and filmed at the Dakota motel, where J. Lennon was murdered. All things considered, it really is creepy.

The Omen. Oops, wrong genre.

Alien? I got you on a technicality. The xenomoroph was an alien, not a monster.

I know you said "No giant spiders" but if you have never seen it The Incredible Shrinking Man is worth the watch.

1956 I think. "Earth vrs the Flying Saucers" Ray Harryhousan created flying saucers and had them blasting and or crashing into all the monuments in Washington DC. Harryhousan was the famous go to guy for special effects back then as he worked in 'stop action' figures. Mold a piece and take a picture, move it slightly and take a picture, move it again and take a picture and when you got thousands of pictures, put them all together for the film.

Actually, Mars Attacks, the opening sequence was a tribute to this movie as Burton was a great fan of it.
