Yup ...just arm all the kiddies then they can just solve all their problems like the adults do

Pro gun logic would actually arm all children ...such a sick society that this even enters anybody's mind but it does

Oh man, that poor little girl, she had no chance.
The poor boy too, no clue what he was really doing I'm sure.

RIP.

Yeah right - We have no gun problem sure, I mean heck if it wasn't a shotgun it would have been a buzz lightyear toy or a jump rope. Guns are not the problem at all.

Not good. I agree the parents are responsible as well. No way education was taking place in this house if an 11 year old had this reaction to being told no. I also wonder if the 11 year old was on some drugs . ADD , depression, whatever.

And just for reality. The US has weapons way beyond guns. I'm talking about the government. There is NO WAY the people with guns, are going to stand up to the USA government one day, if they wanted to.

The joke that they need guns to defend themselves from the government is over.

You mean like Iraq and Afghanistan?

Oh wait....those goat gardens with guns gave the USA a run for it's money.......

Ha. Why don't they own the USA then? Already? I mean I could tell you why they don't. But if they wanted too, they could, right? I mean, according to you. Then tell me, tell us, how? If not, then shut it.

He said they gave them a run for our money. Evident by the fact we are still there fighting after how many years with all of our superior weaponry??? He didn't say they won. A few goat herders with guns simply have to keep fighting not to lose until we finally declare game over and leave. That sounds familiar , I have seen that happen in history multiple times. Just can't place it...crazy.

If you are an American then I salute you sir, breath of fresh air considering all the pro gunners on ATS

We will never ever see it from a pro gunners perspective here in the UK as we are a fairly intelligent and self controlled society, giving the right to own weapons to all is only ever gonna end in tears...we have enough issues here without every tom dick and harry shooting up everywhere

I don't even allow my grandchildren to play with plastic toy guns...they should be banned too

This isn't a gun problem.

This is a anger management, parenting problem.

Would people be happier if he beat her to death with a stick?

I bet this thread would have never been created if a knife, or bat, or brick, was used.

While I also never let my kids have toy guns I don't think they should be banned. It was a personal choice for me. Growing up around guns I never wanted my kids to ever associate guns with being toys. They were never once taught that and I never wanted any confusion so I never allowed them. Also they spent a full year before ever shooting or aiming breaking down and cleaning guns. Again personal choice. I wanted them to really understand that there is a lot of responsibility with weapons beyond a quick rush from pulling a trigger. Along with several other things I did. Other responsible gun owners use toy guns as an intro and that's their choice. The key is teaching responsibility, but that applies to many things not just guns.

As far as banning there are plenty of things that should be but we know it won't happen, even things that are we can't control. You either deal with the realities and teach responsibility on issues or there will be consequences. That's life, not just guns.

Terrible story, terrible parenting, and I am going to guess this 11 year old was on sort of prescription medication ADD, something. Could be wrong.

Apparently everyone would feel better if he beat her to death with a baseball bat.

No i think people would have preferred responsible parents keeping there guns safely in a locked closet or very closely on there person!

OMG I have had enough.

Seriously? You all using this to push your anti gun agenda?

Do you honestly think this little boy would not have hurt her with something else, if the gun wasn't available?

This is all on the absolutely stupid, vile and negligent parents. Something was wrong with that little boy. Either born that way, or made that way by his parents.
Parents need to face charges. Without a doubt.

America has a problem with easily bruised male-egos, narcissism, and feelings of entitlement.

Didn't get your way? Well, someone must be punished with violence and death. It's so ridiculous.

Negligent parenting on so many levels. First , not teaching the value of human life. Second, not securely storing a firearm. Third, not teach proper safety protocols for said firearm.

But yeah, blame the gun.

Very true. Just a few short weeks ago a father killed his three kids with a knife ages 8-12. Can't recall this being posted on ats. Type of stuff happens all the time without guns, it's tragic but I am not an emotional weenie only opposed to one type of death. They all pretty much suck especially when kids involved.

And America needs to get rid of their weapons so no shootings are possible, death from a shooting is a much more likely outcome than death by a stick or a brick...do you understand how dangerous a gun is compared to a stick or brick?...

just accidentally squeeze a trigger and death is almost a certainty...throw a brick or hit with a stick may leave a bruise or a cut but unlikely death
Can you see the difference?

This is such a backward way of looking at things.

That would be a let down to many here.

Ignorant parents. The boy and parents might be the ones to be removed from the gene pool.
