And by ISIS, they mean "Free Syrian Army." They are continuing Assad's strategy of leaving Daesh (ISIS) alone, so that their atrocities (Dynamiting ruins, etc) can be used to portray other groups as terrorists. This is the same strategy that Yanukovich used towards Svoboda: give Svoboda as much publicity and television exposure as possible, so as to portray himself as the better alternative. As soon as Yanukovich was out, Svoboda ceased being a political force. Unfortunately, Russia is going to need to deal with Daesh eventually, and it won't be in what's left of Syria. Funny, I am continually sharing my thoughts. Just in case you haven't been paying attention: there are a number of different groups with different aims. Most of them are legitimate guerrillas, one of them, Daesh, is terrorist. Russia is continuing Assad's policy of not attacking the terrorists because the terrorists make Assad look like the lesser of two evils.
