Yes I guess that seems like the most likely way to go about it. I just wasn't sure if adding someone as a friend here was sort of like "following" them, or if it was considered rude to do so without, I dunno, asking. I guess the process seems a bit awkward to me here for some reason. Thanks for the info

I have been here for several years, drifting in and out. I had a couple of friends and was looking at the friend option on someone's page who I would like to follow and clicked it to realize I guess it just adds them to my list? Now I am not sure how the "friending" process works here, and probably should have looked into it BEFORE just clicking. (OK I admit I clicked on a couple of people whom I admire) Is it common place to ask people first, or is it a one sided thing where each person can "follow" who they like and therefore it doesn't need to be asked? Any advice would be helpful

Thanks for helping to dispel the myth that us Canucks are overly polite and nice

Friend whomever you admire and/or think is posting interesting threads and posts.

If they have a problem with it, it is their problem not yours.

I have never heard of anyone objecting to being friended on here, though I have seen some cases of stalking, been the victim of such myself - and no friending ever occurred.

Go Jays!

I just friended you so we can build a solid foundation based upon alcohol, sarcasm, inappropriateness and shenanigans.

Unless they've changed it very recently, adding someone as a friend sends an automatic U2U message to the person.
