Fine I propose a new theory. The Earth is hollow, there is a thin layer and then air. If we create a hole that penetrates the layer air will leave the Earths inner part, and we will be propelled through the universe. The Earth is a balloon! /sarcasm

No! If the air is let out the earths crust will cave in on itself. The survivors will inhabit a very much smaller earth.

Well people it is because the earth is spinning at 1,000+ mph that it appears to be round.

It's not a perfect sphere now is it?

Spin a rectangle fast enough and it would appear round.

There's still people who think the earth is flat? ... I guess I've missed those threads, or just ignored them because it's absurd. Physics alone dictate that large celestial bodies was be round in shape... in fact if you were to scale up a ball from a pool table, the earth is smoother and rounder than even that.
