Extremely interesting in the fact that your top page showing the flying saucers was in 1942.
The Kenneth Arnold UFO sighting occurred on June 24, 1947, and is (or was) the incident in which the term "Flying Saucers",
"Like saucers skipping on a pond"
was attributed to and coined.
Add: And coming across the 1911 one, blows my mind.

I don't know who all the characters were in the Roswell press conference. My groggy memory seems to recall even the press got into the act.
As far as technology being foretold or drawn, I remember the sic fi of my youth before space flight, lots of engineers dreamt up stuff from the genre because it could work. There was a lot of design engineering going on during WWII, too. Concept drawings of fantastic weapons they can't talk about at the time, but can allude to in Sci Fi, (because thats "not real").
The original Buck Rogers, born from novels prior to WWII and like Star Trek, inspired inventors to explore, I'm sure.

Look at the cover of Armageddon, 2419 for saucer shaped craft.

Foo fighters were a very definite phenomenon that was discussed at the very highest levels both in the European and Pacific Theatres during WWII, and I would imagine afterwards, too...given the UFO related research projects that began shortly after.
The Mystery Rockets in post war Europe. Projects Sign and Grudge. Bluebook. Etc...
For a subject that is totally without merit, according to the govt/military, they surely do spend a lot of time on it...don't they?
