"We have a galaxy full of 10 billion planets, in habitable zones, roughly Earth-size, [but] no visits, no communications we've picked up.
We are SO CAPABLE to pick up signals sent before 1898...right.

Yeah, I definitely disagree of their disheartening opinion based soley on how little science has discovered. But I can see sort of where they are coming from.
Sorry if I misjudged your intention. I'm new at this. ha ha.

I don't think he's saying there's no other life out there mate just that maybe we were an evolutionary quirk , there will be other Galaxies in the Universe where that quirk also happened but we may be few and far between.
If you think about it if Humans hadn't evolved there would be no signals from this planet either , no other creature has obtained that level of evolution even though it is teaming with life.
You are telling me that cave people on other planets exist solely because we cannot detect them?
Its a theory a thought nothing more. It has as much credence as unverifiable religious claims.

OK FIRST OF ALL
We still have not explored the depths of our OCEANS and discovered all species of life on this planet...
WE ARE IN NO POSITION
to even say anything about life in the universe..
It is stupid, and ignorant like saying the world is flat and believing it for centuries...
