Yep. It's probably the most important part of hacking too. The best hacks allow unlimited access to a system without the system even knowing or caring
about them.
Antivirus & anti-malware programs come to mind. Not only do we encourage them to scan every file on our system, but they keep logs of those files &
their locations. And they regularly report back to their vendor's servers, sending information back.
I'm not saying all of those programs are actually hacks, but that's the true nature of many professional hacks. They either secretly install something
on a target's system or entice the targets to install & update it themselves.
