Do you know anything about the Ordnungspolizei and how they opperated? If not, you won't be able to add much to the discussion. In the case of your example, Texas Ranger = Schutzpolizei

Depends on the era and the context, a lot of "cops" (Ordnungspolizei) got killed by civilians during WWII.
