It's not about left versus right, it's about the populists versus the elitists. It's the people versus the small minority of very rich and powerful interests. You see, no matter what president gets "elected," whether right or left leaning, they are always establishment backed, and support the corporate elitists. That is, unless you go back in history to JFK, but we saw what happens to people like that. In any case, there are some candidates that may be less establishment, like Rand Paul, but he isn't exactly a clone of his father. Furthermore, the masses are content with watching the mainstream media parade these candidates who are establishment backed, argue with each other about the most irrelevant things. While country's are going bankrupt, and proxy wars are being waged, people are focused on football and American idol, or whatever.

They control the media, they control the banks, and they control YOU, period. Until people stop paying attention to irrelevant things like football, and start paying attention to things like the Federal Reserve and fractional reserve currency, nothing will change, ever. It might as well be another game show for people to watch, where the inevitable outcome is the continuation of the status quo, and its business as usual.

The government, and that government can print it out on thin air anytime they wish.

The FED is the biggest bank in the world.

In other words It's ALL about the FED, and it's all about those elitist's on capitol shill. That get paid for their opinions.

And who think their OPINIONS should be the LAWS of the land.

When I first found myself diverging from mainstream thought, the term we used for the oppressor is the word you used in your title. The Establishment.

To us, back in that day, it was not so much the government, though it certainly was a part of it, and it wasn't just the corporations, though we saw that as part of the establishment also. To me, and many others the establishment was the status quo. It was the age old way of doing things that though those ways were the engine that had powered us to the present day, those ways had calcified, become deathly ridged and no longer served the changing times. To us, the Establishment was the government, the corporations, the religions the monetary system and the mind set that all we had to do was to continue in the 'old ways'. So as some of us old hippies used to say. "Down with the Establishment"

The elitists, actually the plutocrats, are the SciFi monster that eats all of the ammunition shot at it.

The populists give the elitists all of the power that the elitists use via the central government.

Decentralization, sticking to what your can personally know and do, is the only way to escape the power of the top of the pyramid. In other words, get rid of the pyramid. The plutocrats will always be closer to the top than the living man.

I totally agree, OP.

The right fears big government, the left fears big corporations. But what they should both fear is when big government and big business work together to enslave the common man, which is exactly what's happening now.

Big Government and Big Corporations are the same thing. Rule by economics since 1914.

They will always win as long as they appear to be two different choices.

The elites create an events to split society. To You and Your family argue and fight each other. To make an provisional issue and then used it to their own purpose. Day after day is harder and harder to reach people and make them feel aware.

It's all about vested interests, it always has been. Go back a few centuries- The duke of wherever proffers his daughters hand in marriage to a wealthy power broker and so the Duke of wherever ascends the ladder of power and screw his daughter and her concerns, she is progeny by design.

The story hasn't changed too much. The Murdochs will always be the Murdochs, the Rockerfellers will always be the Rockerfellers, and those families will never allow their sons to date anyone that they wish to date.

There are two systems with two differing realities. They see themselves entirely different than you do and see you entirely different than they see themselves. This hasn't changed since the first recorded word.

Perhaps it's language that enslaves us. Language being a set of rules you follow in order to communicate. The larger your vocabulary the better positioned you are in all manners of speaking whether debate, trickery, lies or manipulation. No matter how you slice it, you are a "follower" to someone else's rules.

I wonder where did you leave, because in the world we live in politicians are the replaceable puppets and they do create no money. You might be surprised to realize the FED is private and most corporation are above the state. In fact most wars that used your army and your money and left you the blame in the eye of the victim, have been done for corporate interests.

If they cannot mind trick you through the media, they have illegal and prescription drugs to keep you down. They also use fluoridation in your water. And so many nonsense laws to keep you down. Not to mention indoctrination through schools and creating peer pressure, societal class groups, racism, stereotyping and gender confusion and political dissonance and division.
