Just curious if anyone here plays Star Trek Online. If so, put your character name here and maybe we all could find each other, or if there's enough of us, maybe we could start a fleet or something. :3

I didn't realise the game was still going. Did they ever fix the exploit where people could get trapped in the control room by people blocking the doors?

I'm gonna guess that they did fix it, since I've never had that problem, or heard of it lol. I've only been playing for a little over a year though. Sometimes people crowd around the exchange markets, but it doesn't affect pulling it up. When did you play?

I tried this game, I could never get it to work on my Macbook Pro.

And track pads are horrible for computer gaming anyway...

I love Star Trek Online. I'd definitely be up for doing some STF missions if enough people are interested!

I usually hang out on Risa while doing pub STFs.

I'd be a jerk if I didn't warn people looking to play that there's been DDOSing going on the past week. A butthurt Neverwinter troll is DDOSing everything PW owns because they were caught botting & banned (as far as anyone can dig up, anyway) STO's had regular downtime due to the blowhard every evening.
It won't last forever, the moron has been broadcasting it via Twitter every time he does it. It's only a matter of time before someone cuffs him.

Explain. I've been playing STO since it went F2P and have no idea what you're talking about.

The only think I can think of is that you're talking about NPCs loitering in doorways not moving, thus blocking you in. This isn't all that common. There's 2 ways around it when you do get the short straw, though -- ram them repeatedly, they will move eventually. Or just use /unstuck, it sometimes works, sometimes not.

edit on 9/18/2015 by Nyiah because: Actually, I believe it's /UNstuck. Goes to show how often that command is actually needed, lol

I played it when it first came out. I didn't think it wasn't that bad but after maxing out the levels and doing all the missions it started to get kind of boring.

More to it now than there was back then, Buster, a considerable bit more. What was the last mission or arc you recall playing?

To tell the truth I have no idea I didn't even know it was F2P like a sucker I paid for it.
But I do remember I had a ship that could make holographic ships and taking out a Borg ship was no problem with it.

Nice! I usually hang around DS9 if I'm not goofing off flying around or doing stuff in the PvE queues. What ship are you running?

Yeah, those have been frustrating to say the least. I was finally able to log on a few days ago, and haven't been on when it was down after that. Finally hit level 60 though!

I'm flying a T6 Long Range Science Vessel. I've always loved Voyager and pretty much modeled my ship after it. I even bought the interiors for it. I love it even though it isn't the hardest hitting ship. What about yourself?

3 of my 10 are at the current end episode, Midnight. The rest I just slowly play once in a while when I feel like a faction or species change. I have one on Nimbus right now getting through the Wasteland arc, others are outside the Dyson sphere waiting to start (or finish) the Solanae arc, etc. All but one are level 60, the one is right behind them at 59. Doffing will pole vault you up the levels

Oh awesome! Voyager was a great ship, and I imagine T6 is amazing. Right now I'm running a T6 Elachi Sheshar Command Dreadnought. It's fun out sizing most everything lol.

Oh wow! I just did midnight yesterday. I liked the story behind it, but I wish we could see more Iconians be friendly. They seem like a nice race to have around. :3

Yep, finished on 3 toons, plus another run teaming with my husband for his run through it. The ground map's excellent, very...well, alien, lol. And you get to see the bridge of an Iconian flagship. Freakin' awesome bridge, I want it! As for the story, most players are in agreement that it's very true to Trek. The episode is less pew pew pew, & more traditionally diplomatic like we're used to from Star Trek. There's a handful of whiners who complained it was anticlimactic, but IMO, it was a good twist to end the Iconian war on. If you haven't played it yet, I don't want to spoil any of it beyond that.

I did finish it. I didn't want to say much else yet as to not give away spoilers. I thought it was a bit of an anticlimactic way to end the war, but I felt satisfied that the mission stuck with the core principles of the Federation in the end. The mission did a good job at drawing me into it emotionally. It somewhat felt as if I was actually the character.

I'd liked to have seen more of their planet, and their flagship, as well. That really was an incredible bridge on that Iconian ship!

I also thought there was a especially thought provoking premise to the mission. Something someone hadn't even done yet, effects everything! Hopefully without giving spoilers you'll know what I'm talking about. I thought it was incredible to think about.

Without giving too much else away, I agree that it was somewhat anticlimactic. Not in a bad way, though, the core of the story was still strong on it's own, but like many others, I expected they'd continue the Iconian "oomph" to the last drop.
What stuck out to my husband the most was the honor & integrity our Klingon buddy there had. That was much, much more like the Klingon code of honor we know. As my hubby said, "That wasn't just words about honor, the dude exuded it."
