What ever.

Case in point the Tuskgee experiemts.

Think they were told they were going to be infected with syphilis ?

Nope.

And I quote:

They were told that they were receiving free health care from the U.S. government.[1]

Pseudo-science, misology and emotionalism inspire meddlers and fussbudgets to ever expand socioeconomic interventionist policies for an ever increasing top-down "managed resident" mentality across the board.

Even the deniers of the deleteriousness of totalitarian socialism cannot deny that it is here and they are, at least in part, responsible for it. It is also not new, all of the "means-tested" and other verifiable welfare programs are astoundingly invasive. They are just the tip of the iceberg.

How fitting. I'm sure this has nothing to do with the free healthcare that has been rolled out JUST FOR US. Don't you feel special?

We will feel even more special if Sanders wins, and rolls out his universal healthcare from which there is no escape.

Well, the source IS the Daily Caller (Breitbart has a similar sensationalistic story about conducting experiments on US citizens).

I DO wish people read the original source instead of these Rags.

Actual Executive Order

It's getting pretty tiring all this twisted rubbish, the Daily Crap has done other hatchet jobs, as well as made up stories.

The state knows best:

Decision makers do not make choices in a vacuum. They make them in an environment where many features, noticed and unnoticed, can influence their decisions. The person who creates that environment is, in our terminology, a choice architect. In this paper we analyze some of the tools that are available to choice architects. Our goal is to show how choice architecture can be used to help nudge people to make better choices (as judged by themselves) without forcing certain outcomes upon anyone, a philosophy we call libertarian paternalism.

From the abstract of Choice Architecture

Libertarian paternalism basically says that people are lazy and will always take the path of least resistance, whether or not it is beneficial to them. So what they plan on doing is making the paths of least resistance those which will cause more people to rely to a greater extent upon the state.

After all, the federal government will never seek to reduce it's necessity or scope of authority.

This is not about keeping tabs on anyone, it's about trying to figure out why people do the things they do, whether those things are good for them or bad.

I can't read the actual order, but I saw a piece on the Fareed Zakaria show about the British "Behavioral Insights Teams", other wise known as the "Nudge" unit. All they really do is study motivational techniques to find ways to encourage people to "do the right thing" like file your tax return on time and such. None of this is near draconian as so many are putting it. Its basically just about learning how to make better and more influential Public Service Announcements about stuff like........"Don't Litter the Highways" and "Recycle" and "Don't feed the Bears", etc.

Its just amazing to me how people in the US can take something as innocuous as this and blow it up to a full fledged "Their preparing us for the death camps" type conspiracy.

Sheeeesssh......get a grip!

Yeah... Only on ATS can "Don't Litter the Highways" be interpreted as the government doing experiments on its people! LOL!

This is really nothing new and has been going on for awhile. I will say its a bit strange to have an EO outline exactly how in detail it will be done. It is nothing more than marketing which has been going on for generations, what colors will be on the box of cereal we like and what font will be used to spell out the brand name. Years of research goes into every bite.

Opinions are shaped every day right here on ATS and very likely by at times by individuals working for the government especially during the election cycle. Slogans are not just spewed out, they are researched and tweaked until they get the right one and then colors and design are chosen before everything is printed.

Just be prepared for whole new ways that government programs are presented like the Affordable Care Act and Food Stamps, (I see a new name coming soon for those) and more thank likely lots of commercials both print and internet and television. This did not authorize any actual lab experiments on people other than maybe focus groups but again it is unsettling in where it could lead.

Would you consider it just as benign if it was an executive order signed by Donald Trump or Dick Cheney?

From the Executive Order....

(a) Executive departments and agencies (agencies) are encouraged to:

(i) identify policies, programs, and operations where applying behavioral science insights may yield substantial improvements in public welfare, program outcomes, and program cost effectiveness;

What does improvements in public welfare mean? What are the outcomes they want to see? In my opinion the answers to both are increasing those who are dependent on welfare to increase the governments control over people.

It means they want healthier, happier, better fed people. And they want to spend less taxpayer money to accomplish this. I assume you are against this.

Isn't that what we do here on ATS on a daily basis here?

Call out the crap our government does, and has continually done throughout it's history.

Think that government has changed one damn bit ?

Nope.
