PW & GE Submit Their Next Gen Fighter Engine Proposals

Over at flight global, they have an article about the AETP project. It's winner take all for $900M.

45k lbs-f and 70 to 75% the current fuel usage by fighter engines.

I hope they can cram one into an F-35. Even a 4.5% increase in thrust would help, but the range boost would be the best part.

Maybe when congress closes the legal loopholes that the GE tax accountants use.
This is really no different than the billions of dollars that Apple keeps offshore due to preferential tax treatments.

I think cramming this engine into the F-35 is the general plan and should help with some of the current F-35 shortcomings with energy bleed and range.

You are correct sir, they probably have the POTUS as their main beancounter cause they also are exempt from the ACA
