Delta State has confirmed one fatality after an active shooter opened fire on its campus Monday afternoon. The school is currently on lockdown, Delta State tweeted.
Local paper Bolivar Commercial posted on Twitter that state troopers are placing shields on campus and that there is a second shooter rumored to be on campus. The Clarion-Ledger reports that the Cleveland Police Department confirmed one victim taken by ambulance. One confirmed suspect is still on the loose.
The Cleveland, Miss., school has approximately 3,300 students.
