Ouiji boards? They're real all right, but I'll have nothing to do with them.

I usuaally don't post on this side of ATS but, I recommend that you NEVER use a ouija board. Why? Well,I thought I was becoming possessed when I did and I think my friend is dead b/c of it.

See, One night on Halloween in college, my roommate and I got a ouija board for fun. To make a long story short, I asked it my age and he spelled "tweeny-one" which was correct. I asked it who my best friend was (so I could know if my roommate was pushing the board). It answered "M-E" (as in the spirit thing). Well, I wasn't having that.

Then, I heard these real low murmurs and grumblings. I looked around and I couldn't figure out where it was coming from. My roommate wasn't saying anything. Then, I realized it was coming from me.

Then, I asked "him" if he were trying to speak and he said yes. I was freakin but, held on. Then I asked him if he wanted to meet God which he replied yes but,, then I asked if he "liked" God. He said NO. Then, I heard the murmurs again and knew it was coming from me. We tried to end the session but it took us 3 times to do it b/c everytime we said goodbye, it raced back to NO. After we were done, I felt exceedingly weak and dirty after that (and it wasn't the kind of dirt you could wash off).

After that, I gave the board to a friend who wanted it b/c I wouldn't have it in my dorm room. Well, he played and played. Phone calls wouldn't go thru when he was playing with his otherworldly friend (he created a relationship with some being after playing) and he had caller everything---nothing was interrupting their sessions.

Anyway, soon after, he died in a freak car accident.

Don't play this thing. It is evil.

I'm not sure what the big mystery is here. It says exactly how it works right on the back of the box.

I had a conviced friend warn me of Ouija boards, so I immediatly went out and bought one. I played it, and even slept with it under my pillow that night just for kicks.

It's a matter of physiology and nothing more.

1) Why would Satan require you to keep your wrists off the table?

2) Is the factory that manufactures these boards a gateway to hell?

3) Surely we could have recorded the sound of them "Screaming" in the fire right?

ok here's where i post my own "dont play with a ouiji board like a toy" post.

me and brother decided to fool with one we had since we were kids. now i'm a skeptical believer in some thing but always doubted ouiji boards as being the genuine article. i heard all the stories and thought it was a bunch of bunk but something about this one time seemed "different" and made me question my belief about this "toy" they freely sell.

in my late teen years me and my older brother bust out the old ouiji board (i had never used it before) and we "fool" with it. now first off i should have known better than to us this thing with my brother as he has a way of pissing everyone off, including spirits it seems.

someone mentioned to NEVER question a spirits abilities. smart advice! he decided to play smart arse with it and "question" it like a moron. he had a cat, this car was normal, this was was soon to be not so normal. as soon as he started the "i'm going to be a smart aleck" routine the cat went haywire. it was running aorund all over the house and kept looking around like something was chasing it. now i've lived with cats all my life and i know cats do some really stupid things in a spontaneous way but this cat seemed really freaked out, more than any kind of freaked out ive seen before. everytime he'd make a smart remark, boom the cat would go immediately (not even a slight delay) berzerk and run around like it was trying to outrun something. it was jumping onto things it normally never went on and things it knew it wasnt suppose to be on. after i i got it into his thick skull "hey moron! let me spell it out for you, you insult, the cat goes nuts, stop it!" he apologized and the cat instantly calmed down like nothing had happened. i also remember a name from the board that night "caballero".

to this day i really dont want to believe that this really happened but it did. its not that i cant or wont believe in things that seem impossible but its a freaky thing to know something really happened you cant fully explain and you cant really get others to believe you.

i dont touch ouiji boards anymore. done with the wrong people and you get bad juju my friends. best to avoid it all together.

They are real. They are not toys, but are entrance ways to the demon world. You aren't talking to dead people or angels, but are being manipulated by demons. Leave the things alone! Run away! Get out!

The Demon world? I can open the Gates of Hell? I think it would be fun to summon Satan.

Me too! He's not as cool as Cthulhu or one of those Lovecratian creatures, but as far as imaginary monsters go he's pretty cool.

Do you mean Lovecraft? I have heard of him but I don't know a lot.

Yes, H.P. Lovecraft. He created a nice little mythos with his short stories back in the 1920's. He was a truly great author that inspired many of the modern horror writers like King, Barker, etc. Check him out next time you go the bookstore.

Looks like I'll be the odd one out here in this post. I admit I only read a few replies.

The board, which doesn't have to be the Parker Brothers version BTW, is a tool like any other. Some are able to comunicate in one way, some another. I think the board is one of the easiest ways to open doors, it allows a person with vertually no ability to tap into something else....BUT....it seems for some it works and others it don't. Also, if you have to use a board or other tool to communicate, you probably need more foundation before messing around in these areas because they can be so darn tricky. (this is NOT a fortune telling device in ANY way - they can't tell the future per say).
They will often lie and be nasty and hurtfull, say things to cause you trouble (maybe tell you your husband or wife is cheating or that your friend (insert bad thing)ed you...it can be a challange in the begining to learn the difference between good and bad - you can't just ask. LOL
It isn't a toy, nor is it 'nothing'. But it isn't the answer to communication by a long shot.

A friend and I called on Pan (of the Greek pantheon) to talk to us via Ouija board. He called me a hag...my friend laughed for a long time. I was pissed at the whole thing but, little did I know that it was a great compliment. Especially when you look up its older meaning.

Now, I'm glad I was called that. BUT be VERY careful, very very very careful. You can call something that you can't get rid of. Precaution is a necessity.
