I really try to not llook back and have regrets because we can do nothing about them but when I have had a drink or seven I always look back upon my life and wonder about the choices I have made and blimey I have made many bad ones but I suppose it is part of life and what makes us more wiser, we learn from our regrets and mistakes.
Mine Is leaving my second wife, she was the one the one I think of before I sleep at night, the one who would be stilll alive today If I had not had left her..
She used to batter me but I don't care I should have stayed with her.
A few months after we split she got on the back of a bike with a fella and they crashed she died he did not.
If I just stuck with it she would would be alive and I think we would have been happy.
sFeck I'm drunk and reminiscing and looking back on my past.
So you have any regrets? anyting you wish to get off your chest?.
Booze eh?.
lol.

edit on 10-9-2015 by boymonkey74 because: drunk lol.

I'm sorry BM.

My biggest regret?? Being a high school dropout. If I died tomorrow I would have only ever been someone's daughter, wife, and mother. My only claims to fame. Nothing that I have achieved above and beyond that.

You have achieved being a ruddy decent human being, which many can not.
Good enough for me dear.

Not sending that chain letter to ten of my friends 15 years ago.

But seriously my biggest regret is that I started smoking. I used to jog all the time in high school. Then I started smoking. 20 years later I'm 300 lbs. Lots of crap in between but I feel if I kept up the healthy lifestyle back then it wouldn't be as hard now.

A few things.

1) Not teaching my kids about God as much as I should have and maybe found a church (cringe, hard to find a good one) to take them when they were younger. Actually being a Christian in my younger years instead of being an idiot.

2) Taking Levaquin and Cipro and blowing out my Elbow and Achilles Tendons which have never healed.

3) Smoking

I have no regrets.

Doing stupid stuff or not doing things I should have, have made me who I am today.

And I like who I am today.

I have a cousin who's a high school dropout and a software developer. He makes 2 or 3 times as much $$ (or more) as many people with master's degrees. He's largely self taught.

boymonkey....I have no regrets!

I'm happy, most of the time. 3 great kids, and a man who loves me. I do have an underlying regret, though. I broke a boy's heart. He loved me, but I thought we could just be friends. He was the one I should have married. I see him at my High School reunions. My life would've gone in a different direction, and I wouldn't had gotten in my car accident. The only reason I was in that car was because I broke his heart. If I could have a do-over, it would be that.

Oh! This is a bad night for this but here I go...
I don't really have a "biggest" regret but I do have them...

Right now the biggest one I am personally dealing with is letting my adopted nephews go to live with their biological aunt in another county.
I DO regret NOT finishing college, I am a drop out.
I regret that I didn't spent more time with my Mom while she was still alert.
I regret that I left Florida.
I suppose that I have many regrets...
What a shame!
Maybe they are not JUST regrets but lessons learned...maybe that is part of the process...

Hey I know that, doesn't mean I don't regret pissing away those years and being closer!

Plan on using that life lesson to the better.

Ruining a perfect relationship with a single mistake that I had made while in the heat in the moment when my anger was up. Nothing physical, but it doesn't need to be now does it? We're friends now, not sure how long that will last. I still hope for a future, but I really need to become a better person. That is my single regret. Destroying something on the day that It was the greatest. That sudden drop..ah man don't make me think of this because I don't even need any booze to think about it.

Writing a certain thread last when I was dead tired and not with it enough to fact check. I'm still smoking from the flaming I got.
Having a falling out with one of my best friends years ago and moving. It was dumb and I miss hanging out with him. Also, working at this one job. It more or less ruined me. I've been in agony every day because of it.

If you are in the UK and posting now, isn't it like 4 in the morning or something? Maybe time to sleep?

I feel your pain about the what if's about that bike accident. I have a similar regret. If I had let my husband come back home during his recovery from addiction, he wouldn't have been on the bike and died in the accident. If only....

So, you have my empathy from across the pond my friend.
