Agreed as to the diagnosis and humanitarian impulse... though if all threads by ill members were closed, the site would disappear in days... my own posts would likely fall into the "ill members" grouping, actually, to be fair.

But the baby and bathwater/slippery slope/more things in heaven and earth admonition stands.

Your post has ate my ass for 3-days now. At first, it wasn't true. Then there was a guardian Angel followed by an earthbound spirit haunting your home. These are the three things I got from your words. Be honest with yourself and say. "it's not there".

True, unconditional Love is ALWAYS recognized by It's unconditional Virtues; Compassion, Empathy, Sympathy, Gratitude, Humility, Charity (charity is never taking more than your share of anything, ever!), Honesty, Happiness, Faith...
ALWAYS!

The 'fruits' that are recognized by 'others'!
The truly Humble, for instance, NEVER thinks himself to be Humble! The attendant Honesty makes him feel quite the opposite, all vanity and ego!

Love conquers all!
THAT is 'power'!
All the rest is ego!
