I've always liked you beezzer, but I like funny men so everyone else may not share my opinion. Who really cares if they do or not? I mean really?

When you lay down to sleep at night, you are laying down with your own thoughts, your own gifts, your own curses, and your own deeds. None of those have anything to do with how others choose to perceive you.

I try to live by one saying.

Whatever I do today... I'll have to sleep with tonight.

That's it. And let me tell you... I can beat myself to death (mentally) sometimes over the smallest things if I feel like I've done somebody wrong, or didn't stand up for an injustice, etc.

As long as you can sleep with you... Do you. Don't worry about what others think you should say, or think about what you say.

I'm not as wise or as old as you are, but that's the best advice I've got for you.

Keep your head up bunny man.

Beezer,

I've always enjoyed your posts.

It wouldn't be the same without seeing the ol bunny come hopping through threads.

Perhaps a change in greens might give you a renewed sense of being. Toss in an extra fresh carrot for the hell of it too.

Just make sure the teeth, and claws are well managed, and the coat shiny, and all the crap will just rinse off when it rains next.

Don't leave.
While my keyboard and monitor would appreciate it [ because of some of your comments, their coffee intake is roughly the same as mine ] the rest of us wouldn't .
Take a break. Take more scotch. Take my wife, please. Just don't take off.

I noticed over the months you´re not lucky with the situation and you showed it to us with your smoking and coffee drinking avatar. At least that´s what I noticed. I shrugged it off to the F-35 rabbithole but yeah..

I have this problem too. For me it´s just that I often manage to not get my point across and this way I leave room for interpretation I think most people would get. But that´s not happening. The latest was in Lazar thread, where I wrote

"But because I write that now I´m a Lazar believer, too, I guess."

And that sentence, spawned a reaction from another member who felt like I accussed him of that. When it was just to get my back free from all those people who I thought would jump on me.

Sadly many people seem not to be able to give credit where credit is needed. Why can´t someone who´s opting for worldview A not acknowlede that points of worldview B are right. You get painted black and white.

Being not the best one in formulating my thoughts, not in a second language at least. I come over as an internet authority, when all I want to do is fight ->what I percieve to be ignorant postings. I´ve been wrong, too.

It´s funny that, without reading your thread until now, I backed off from several threads today because I´m so tired of fighting of unnecessary attacks. Like in the latest thread where I notified the OP that his text is hard to read, with the politest way I could come up with. The fetish of this member to vibrant colors was clear but when it hurts using this site I think one is ok to point that out. But noo...

This was seen as a attack and replied with "get over it". I mean come on.

Edit: had to take out a special char because ATS injection filter -again- destroyed my whole post with that

Recently I sided with an issue that was neither conservative nor Christian. And people automatically assumed I had a motive. That what I posted was some sort of "trap".

Well you have to choose sides, right? Its our only choice. Otherwise, you're suspect, you have an other than acceptable agenda. You aren't 'normal'.

Everyone is conditioned from early life to choose one side or the other and hate on anyone that doesn't conform to either.

Let all that go, like water off a ducks back. You are you, not them. Don't go changin'…

Beezer...

I cannot speak for anyone else, but all I have ever expected of you is that you be yourself, and be comfortable with that when you debate with the membership. We are all in the same boat, floating on the same toxic filth after all!

I'm not an old, old-timer at ATS, but I have been around long enough to have observed a common trend among members. We're a bit like high school, or college students. We literally go through changes and phases similar to the freshman, sophomore, junior, and senior years. I'm not sure how best to describe it in detail, but if you can remember the mental and emotional changes every student goes through in those four years, you'll get what I'm saying.

You're a senior now Beez. You've had moments here you wish you could take back. You've had moments you are proud of. And you've had moments that changed the way you think about certain topics. You aren't the same man you were when you arrived here. Even if on the surface, it may appear so. You're now in a time of reflection and questioning. This is a good thing.

ATS is a forum that allows us to "let it all hang out" within the T&C's. It allows us to flesh out a topic in graphic detail. It allows us to test our own convictions, as well as the convictions of others. We get something here that's hard to get any where else. The perception and perspective of people from all walks of life, all at once. The value in that is inestimable. And you sir, are a part of that. We've lost some good members along the way. Some we may not have ever agreed with, but it doesn't negate their value to this community.

So you've built a reputation here, and you'd like to change it. Then change it. You aren't stuck with it. People change all the time IRL. Why would it be any different here? Sure, it will take time, but not only will you reap the benefits, we will too. Male menopause doesn't last that long. You'll be fine once you get past the initial rough spots.

"Consistency is the hobgoblin of the little mind"

Do not allow yourself to be painted into a corner by ideological fantasy. Do not allow yourself to argue for fun (really, Beezzer?). Just speak honestly.

People won't hate you any more or less than they already do. And they won't like you more or less than they already do. But they will respect you more.

Your account has no baggage. It is just an account. A record in a database, a name on a screen. But you do mention the d-ego. That, honestly, is all that needs to be hung up. The d-ego is where this expectation of how you participate is coming from. Hang that sucker up, and just move forward from there.
It is liberating to be real. I swear.

Gunslinger, don't trust him.
D-ego, what's he trying to pull?

In a "round about" way, that whole topic exposed a hidden vengeance that exploded, and it caused a lot of nerves and ideals to get shattered.

I appreciate the replies folks. I also appreciate the insight.

I wish that I had answers worthy enough.

Working on a brisket right now. Dry-rub options, bbq, . . . you know. . . . the important things in life. I think I'll concentrate on that for the moment.

It was probably a good thing that I walked away when I did.

Sometimes I wish I could have done that more often.

I will say this, brace yourself, I am going to be little brutal here. Peppered with care and friendship.

I feel in the last year particularly you spam one liners to argue "for fun". I have known you personally to not be that intense before.
I don't think you have painted yourself into a ideological corder so much as feeling hurt by something at some stage on ATS that led to this need to confront and have "fun" with people.

I have seen you admit to doing this one liner baiting tactic with ATS on your other site, so I am not saying anything shocking to you. But I have to ask, isn't doing this for a year exhausting?

We are all people, staff too and whatever grievance you had, put it away, you have friends here who just want to be your friend not your combatant. And to be honest, I kinda miss you.

I see you as a smart and funny guy that created this Dego Bunny instead of respectful dialogue and friendships that Beezer had. And I use to enjoy most of your posts and considered you a friend, it never mattered if we disagreed. however for reasons I am not sure of mostly in the last year you became like a Uber character of Beezer.

I for one would love to have normal in-depth conversations with you and if you can take Beezer back to that man that I have conversed with before on ATS, the one you are saying is really you in your OP.

Just be you. You CAN be funny AND respectful. I've seen it before from you. The two can go and in hand.

From one old broad to one ol geezer. Just Shut up, Fix whatever's gotten rusty, Get on with it.

I appreciate the candor.

Rarely have I intentionally posted with malice. I try to post, however, to elicit a response. It is in the response that I learn from.

But I will try to learn a little more and take your advice.

It just so happens that two of the subjects you seem to be most passionate about also just happen to be the most emotionally combative subjects known to mankind - politics and religion.

Now add to that the fact that you wear your heart on your sleeve (or at least on ATS you do more times than not), and you've got yourself a recipe for neverending confrontation and bullet dodging.

It also doesn't help that people are at a complete loss if they're unable to stick a label on you and shove you into a pigeonhole. They need that label so that they can categorize and typecast each individual they're debating with... it's they're weapon.

I say hold your shield and sword up higher, stand your ground, and fight your way out of the corner that yourself and others have painted you in to.

But pick your battles wisely.

Oh and FYI as a sidenote... when you're bashing "progressives" at every opportunity imaginable on ATS, I don't think you realize that what you're actually doing is bashing liberals. I don't know what the hell the definition of a progressive is in the US, but to the rest of the world it's normally associated with a liberally minded type of individual.

Liberals tend to think of themselves as wanting society to move forward and leaving behind outdated mindsets... otherwise known as "progress". Ergo, progressive.

I'm assuming this is probably one of the main reasons why people don't believe you when you claim yourself to be a liberal.

Just giving you some food for thought.

Ahhh, my crazy Canadian friend. I bash progressives because they are the scourge of the universe.

But you do have a point.

As mentioned to another poster once, I always try to be honest with my opinion so I never have to remember what I said. I'm old, and the second thing to go is memory. I forget what the first one is.

It'd be easier for me to shoe-horn ideology if I could find one where I fit.

Reputation on ATS? lmao, if you are a political guy, your fame correlates to which party is in the White House.
