Why do we even have morals any more. Those who try to do the right thing in life get # on, yet society is moving to a "turn a blind eye" to every evil deed mentality, then try to wrap it up in a nice neat bureaucratic bow.

The raping of young boys is a custom in Afghanistan. Although, of course to them it is neither "rape" nor "pedophilia". U.S. soldiers are expected to turn a blind eye to these "customs".

What I wonder is why this soldier is bothered by the boy being forced into one of these "relationships" yet seemed perfectly okay with child brides for years.

He doesn't deserve a medal for being a hero. He is an enabler that picked and chose at what point to feel miffed. He beat this dude up because he laughed in his face not because he gives a # about children being raped. If he did give a # he and every other soldier stationed there would have been kicked out years ago because girls(and boys, although less prevalent) are raped constantly.

Call it a bride or call it Bacha but it's a child that's being raped nonetheless.

This guy is scum just like all the other soldiers enabling these assholes.

Well sadly morals are subjective. Vigilante justice has always been frowned upon because people think different things are wrong and right.
Sure raping boys should be pretty universal, but we still can't allow the vigilante justice for it.
If you want to act, good on you, but you should prepare for the consequence of your action.
I had a really good friend of mine in jail for killing a child molester, the family didn't hold hate against the system they understood.
Outside of that we have a justice system to go through, same goes for the army.

I suppose the main point is we send people over there to essentially kill the enemy. There is no justice in that in reality. When we killed it was to accomplish a specific objective or self defense (even if we were the invaders). This is just something else all together inherently wrong with the human species.

While you are correct in your bureaucratic assessment of the situation, it is still a piece of news created to invoke an emotional response.

The system is flawed. It needs to be addressed. I should add it to my list of irritants that caused me to wig out on Krazyshot.

Yes because the answer to fixing abuse of children is just to nuke the whole area killing all of them in a fiery bloodbath.

With solutions like these, who needs problems?

LOL,

Justice would have been never hearing about this story and a missing Afghan Police Commander.

Dropping him off in full uniform at the local Taliban hideout would have worked. He would have been in the movies.

We have ROE over there about that killing, it isn't just willy nilly kill anyone you want.

The system may be flawed, but I don't think the fix is to allow people to get away with things as long as we all agree the person they assaulted 'deserved it'.

Ha! They may have recognized him as one of their own and welcomed him back. I was thinking something along the lines of giving him to the mother in a nice secluded place.

As I heard this reported on the radio, the police chief was raping the boy, and his mother asked him to stop, at which point the chief beat her almost to death. The soldiers heard about it, and warned the chief, who essentially said "what are you going to do anout it?", and the soldier shoved him. The chief fell and bruised his arm, and filed charges.

If there is a "next" time. I am sure the next Serviceman will not make that mistake.

No. But its the answer to rid the world of a place that feels this practice is humane in this day.
As previously stated "the police force is on the fence for being insurgents or the face of the law". Well I know I wouldn't want those LEO's "protecting" my family. What's worse, living with the threat of insurgents coming into your village and committing these crimes, or having the ones designated as your protectors do it?
They are both the same monster.

Nuke it and never look back.

Beginning to see how that works?

What?

I take it you were not in the military?

You only face murder charges when there is a known crime. The idea is not let it be known. Accidents happen all the time. Afghan police have fired on our troops.... so did he.

See how that works.

There are many in America that feel that raping children is acceptable. You would be dishonest if you say you've never met a man who claims that if a girl's body is ready to have children then there's nothing morally wrong with #ing her. That it is "natural" for men to do so.

What we blame on nature to excuse our poor behavior toward other human being's right to their own bodies is deplorable.

Nuking the world isn't the answer to fixing problems.

If you have that mentality then start by jumping off a bridge.

No?

Thought not.

Disgusting...rape? Murder? I still can't believe what I read about the "Honor killing" wtf...that part of the world is jacked to the nines to believe capital punishment is necessary for a 12-year old girl kissing a boy.

If I were this guy I would have probably killed those a-holes with my bare hands...js.

I don't necessarily agree with what is going on but he isn't getting discharged for ignoring a custom like this is saying.
You know that as well. It is about the assault.

I know we all want it to fine because of who he is assaulting, and I would agree. But that isn't the case.
And it has always been that way, you can't just go and assault someone because you don't agree with what they did.

Two wrongs don't make a right.

If this is not a good reason to assault someone, what is? We are at war with people over there because we don't like what they did/do. Punishing a child rapist is not a wrong in any universe. I commend these soldiers for doing the right thing.
