Yes seems a perfectly reasonable solution, they could even come up with snappy title for the policy, somethin like "separate but equal" might work....

Well you said "separate but equal" that has worked for men and women for a LONG time. Why should anyone else be different? AND accommodations were made. Or would it be better if most of the females drop the class because they weren't comfortable with someone, that had already been accommodated?

Where separate water fountains ok as whites felt uncomfortable sharing with blacks? Should gay people change in a different locker room?
Some people don't like eating in the same restaurant as a disabled person, should they be accommodated?
