Saw this on my TV last night. to be honest at first i thought it could be CGI, (my TV is kinda far away in the room and i need better glasses)..
Anyway, The TV made more of a issue on the silence of the reporters after viewing the video than it did Fat Shark. Nothing about weight, length, age, the location where the Shark was filmed etc.

Grabbed this first thing this morning. Same video doing the rounds. Maybe someone else can find out more about the Beasty in the video.

So what do you think. Megalodon or just a Fat Shark. It's certainly by far the biggest Shark i have even seen..

That's what i initially thought when i saw it on TV. Looking closer on my PC, I'm pretty sure it's the real deal. It's massive.

I think the shark is called Deep Blue. There have been threads about it before. It's a great white female that's simply managed to survive long enough to grow so huge.

If that is an 8x8x10 ft cage then the part of the shark out of the water should be close to 24 ft and that would be 1/2-2/3 it's total length

Making it 36 -48 feet

I second the man sentiment. I an never going in the water again

Goodnight

OK, Just googled Deep Blue, Certainly fits, but this one looks kinda, Newer, Fresher, less gnarly. It would be nice to know whether it's the same shark or not. Could very well be another biggy.

Surf!....SURF!!...you must be mental to Surf.

Deep Blue....Not sure it's the same shark as the one in the OP. As i said, The News report mentioned nothing about the shark in the report i saw, Maybe our Aussie friends here got a longer news clip with more information than i did.

They made an issue out of the silence of the reporters?

If you cannot be stunned to silence by what appears to be a shark the size of a God damned truck, then what can you be stunned by?

The lens makes it appear bigger by "compressing" the distance. It's big though. Like to see the time before and after the shark rises as that would prove/disprove the above statement.

Big for a great white, small for a Megalodon.....I think it is just an overgrown great white, but nothing more.

Megalodon was around about 15-24 meters (50ft- 78ft)m whereas deep blue is around 6 meters (20ft)
