The Peace of God to all that belong to the Light,
Dear Readers,

If there is a figure in the world that was best known for his exhaustive work in trying to find the way to conciliate the teaching of the ancient religious & spiritual traditions and the findings of the modern science in the understanding of the way the human mind interacts with the circumstances in life was without doubt Wayne W Dyer, who died today at age of 75 years.

Eternal rest and peace for Dr. Wayne Dyer , one of the most enlightened and open minds of science that devoted an entire life in understanding the complexity of the human condition and how to help to overcome all the problems that attain to it.

Since 1976, year of the publication of his so famous self help bestseller book, Your Erroneous Zones, was for four decades the dean of this genre of literature, one of the most outstanding motivators ever.

Dyer's work represented a great bridge in between the way mind is understood in the west and in the east and a great rendezvous in between science and mysticism without falling never in the temptation of sectarian religious thinking.

What few know is that he himself represented a great example of personal superation, he was an exposit child left in an orphanatory since a baby, and from that so difficult beginning became one of the most influential psychiastrists of the XX century.

His so famous book, one among the fourty that followed it, was based on the philosophies of Siddha Yoga founder Krishna Rau, who was better known as Swami Muktananda. The book surged to the top of the best-seller list and catapulted Dyer to instant fame.

Here some of the notes of press about the life and death of this singular mind that became an icon of the self help literature.

Here some of his most famous quotes:

If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.

How people treat you is their karma; how you react is yours.

When you judge another, you do not define them, you define yourself.

Be miserable. Or motivate yourself. Whatever has to be done, it's always your choice.

Doing what you love is the cornerstone of having abundance in your life.

You cannot always control what goes on outside. But you can always control what goes on inside.

You are important enough to ask and you are blessed enough to receive back.

Freedom means you are unobstructed in living your life as you choose. Anything less is a form of slavery.

The contribution of Wayne Dyer to the Psychology and Psychiatry has been object of deep discussion along the years since the publication of his extraordinary seminal work in 1976, but his legacy in Philosophy and Metaphysics is just starting to be understood precisely for the richness of his findings and the so many possibilities that his work offered.

Possibly one of the great achievements of Wayne Dyer was his ability to conciliate in a harmonious way the great metaphysical teachings of the east and the west and extract from them a philosophy of life that offers paths of obstacles superating, extraordinary motivation power for reaching of goals , but also of immense self healing for the modern man.

Dyer work arrived in the 1970s as an innovation in the schools of Psychology and Psychiatry that were stuck in to offer solutions to the many problems the western style of life has, in particular in to deal with the so many causes and consequences of social stress, but it was in the early 2000s when it showed perhaps all his so important scope by helping the American people to overcome times of so deep Crisis in one of the most obscure moments of the national life, like the great recession and the terrorism war. Dr. Wayne Dyer theses became light for millions that were unable to find the way in the middle of the storm.

The thread is open to all what feel compelled to discuss his work and meditate on his so interesting theses and points of view in the many different topics he worked along his so extensive intellectual production.

Thanks,

The Angel of Lightness

He's was a cool guy, and while it was easy for myself to inject exceptions into much of his teachings, going the further step to extract wisdom helped me through my early adulthood.

The world has lost a huge light. May he have have fun in his new adventure and lead us from the other side.

"If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change" is my fav. quote of his although all of them are inspiring.

I loved the way he gave his time and money even though he could have been another statistic whereas bad childhood lead to bad adulthood.

He will be missed. RIP

Wow, I didn't know he passed away.

Yes Dear MamaJ,

You are quit right, he taught us that circumstances have no control over us, they don't determine our life, we are the ones that have the very last word with respect to what ever happens to us.

Taking what we are and accepting it is the way to become No Limit People, is that we discover that everything that comes to our way is an opportunity, and he showed that not just with words like many other motivators, but with his own example of life.

It is so immense the number of his thoughts that are pretty enlightening but let me choose to mention that it was so interesting his statement that 90% of any human is invisible, untouchable, there is an essence of us that never die, it only moves to a new ways of life, that transcend.

His metaphor of the Orange, what ever squeezes an Orange only will produce orange juice, only releases what is already inside it, to compare with what the people returns in life is so intelligent, is remarkable as a modern parable of the human reaction to circumstances.

That is one of the examples that shows that the Talent of Dyer was his skill to exorcise all those small personal demons that people carry in their lives and prevent them to reach full realization.

Here three of my favorite video clips of Dr Dyer, from his last years TV shows,

and here one from his early years, it is interesting to see his personal evolution in a path that since the beginning
showed to be outstanding,

Thanks to share your insights about him,

Dear arpgme,

As you correctly pointed he inspired the lives of probably millions around the world, not only in America, and this is extraordinary thinking in the first so hard experiences he faced in his life, he never became a bitter person.

He also always showed a great talent to handle fame, something that many figures fail dramatically to do as soon as they reach success.

It is interesting to see how a son of the Great Depression became Light for a nation and the entire world in every time but in particular in the most difficult moments of the postmodernity.

Many call or identify me as the Angel of Light, in ATS, but to be honest that is not true, if somebody deserved to have a title in our time or in History that reflects his ability to enlighten lives was without doubt Dr. Wayne Dyer, he , his thinking, his life was indeed a tremendous source of Light for millions.

Thanks a lot for your comment,

Excuse me for don't sign this response but I am really touched for
his departure.

When you dance, your purpose is not to get to a certain place on the floor. It's to enjoy each step along the way.

What ever comes from you, when somebody squeezes you, is what is inside, that is a vital principle of to be No limit person.

Wayne Dyer

He evolved in his later years.

We all have to learn from our trials, errors, and negative choices.

Thank you for a wonderful tribute to his beautiful spirit, The angel of light.

He brought so much light & wisdom to myself and others, and what I really admired about him was that he ensured his messages were available freely to all, via the internet and his endeavors with PBS. He certainly gave much more than he received, which I feel is the whole point to this existence.

What a blessing of a man, a soul whom truly appreciated what this life is really all about.

R.I.P. good Sir.

Sad news. I don't buy 100% of his philosophy (or anyone else's for that matter) but more than once I've recommended his book The Power of Intention. There's definitely some kooky woo in there I'd take exception to, but overall a very good read.

And not to nit pick but Wayne had a Doctor of Education degree in counseling. He wasn't a psychiatrist, or psychologist.

Dear Yeahright

That is a very interesting biographical information of Wayne W. Dyer, it is remarkable that he was able to shine in such a field with a degree in Education, not in Psychology or Psychiatry. Sometimes the great innovators are precisely the ones that come from the most unorthodox formation, that have occurred in crucial moments of the advance of Civilization.

William Shakespeare was entirely autodidact, he never walked a step on the floor of none University of England. Many consider Albert Einstein more a Mathematician than a formal Physicist, at least for the standards of his time, Vincent Van Gogh was also as well as some other of his impressionists fellows a non academic artist.

Now, I am sure many possibly claim that Dyer had a tremendous luck in to have written "Your erroneous zones" precisely in the moment the American society was asking for it, but I think his theories have a solid base, circumstances are not enough to determine a person, his case is not isolated in History.

We have many more great interesting examples showing that to react with positive attitude toward negative environment is a powerful force to overcome it.

For instance Edith Piaf , the great Romantic voice of France was as Dyer a orphan and foundling child, remarkable intellectuals like Abraham Lincoln or Napoleon Hill also grew up like him in poverty, Beethoven composed the best of his music being deaf, Rachmaninoff after to have suffered a mental breakdown, and Tchaikovsky under the permanent risk to suffer harassment by a society that was unable to tolerate homosexuality, and well people born with a lot of handicaps like Hellen Keller make us think a lot in that internal force too.

Thanks,

The Angel of Lightness

Yes Dear amazing,

The news is sad but I think he was extremely well prepared to assume death with serenity and also with great empathy, he walked through that last experience with great dignity. He was sick of Leukemia since years a go, so by sure he started a process for this moment with enough anticipation.

By the way, although the news was today officially released by his family to the press and media he actually died two days ago in Honolulu, Hawaii, a really exotic, luxurious and far place to say good bye for a person that was born in extreme poverty in Detroit.

Thanks,

The Angel of Lightness

William Shakespeare was entirely autodidact, he never walked a step on the floor of none University of England.

And on that note, there's a lot of doubt about who authored the works commonly believed to be Shakespeare's.

My money's on Edward de Vere, the 17th Earl of Oxford.

Other candidates include: Francis Bacon * Roger Manners, 5th Earl of Rutland * Christopher Marlowe * Sir Henry Neville * William Nugent * William Stanley, 6th Earl of Derby

RIP Wayne Dyer.

Did he take a vow of poverty?

To exploit spiritual truth for personal gain is folly, but then those who prey on others will reap what they have sown.
