Wes Craven, Horror Maestro, Dies at 76

Wes Craven, the famed writer-director known for the Nightmare on Elm Street and Scream movies, died Sunday after a battle with brain cancer. He was 76. Craven, whose iconic Freddy Krueger character horrified viewers, died at his home in Los Angeles, his family announced.

Looks like the Horror movie world lost a cinematic pioneer, love him or dislike him, RIP. Personally while no fan of Scream(he was working on the TV series) but respect his Horror movie legacy. Nightmare on Elm Street is an 80s staple whether into B horror or not for some.

His movies were an indelible part of the Halloween atmosphere in our home when I was younger. I will definitely be binge watching the entire Nightmare series of DVDs this October. Rest in peace.

Why God why!? Why not one of the multitude of untalented hacks making stupid found footage movies?

He made some truly genre defining classics - a true horror legend.

I read a book of short stories by wes years ago, there was one in that book about the dark that had this grown man scared to shut off the lights for a couple weeks lol.
