Anchor baby: a tale of hypocrisy

So okay you know things are offensive when you say them. I mean, you're not a moron, you know when things offend people and this is just how human interaction has worked pretty much forever and certainly since you began using it.

This act that it shouldn't matter if people are offended by the offensive terms you use ? Not convincing anybody of your innocent nature. You should try harder by referring to people with respect instead of just insulting them. You are driving people away from your own cause. It is actually causes detriment to the reputation of your ideology.

You are also damaging your own ideology by being so blatantly contradicting. Things like jokes on abortion offend you, gays offend you, Muslims offend you, illegal immigrants offend you, hell you get offended on behalf of immigrants over illegal immigrants for some reason. I could go on, really.

The point is you can't preach about the uslessness of political correctness and then turn around and hide behind political correctness. You can't tell other people not to be offended when you become offended yourself. It's not science this is something that should've been discussed sooner by whoever tells you to be mad about stuff. This should've made its way through the grapevine by now and yet you continue with this thing old contradicting ideology.

Really what damages your reputation the most and that you perpetuate is that a lot of the things that you get offended seems like something just magic out of a hat. Regardless of what ever sort of evidence or critical thinking is shown to you, you will perpetuate an idea that is known to be false.

In the future people will look back and see that your ideology is saying these things. You don't want to be perceived as racist so don't say things that are perceived has racist. If you don't want to be perceived as sexist don't say sexist things. And if you don't want history to perceive your ideology has outdated And barbaric[, then I suggest you get with the times.

Example 1: acting clueless about social interaction. This is a tactic to distract from everything else. He (probably) knows why some terms are offensive, but choose instead to reflect the whole thing back on the opposition. You can make it the fault of the people being offended by the offensive terms he uses he then absolves himself of all responsibility over his free speech.

Of course that is not how the world works and people are free to be has offended as they want about his terms. Just because he doesn't understand why things are offensive does not mean people do not find them offensive. And just because you think something shouldn't be offensive doesn't mean other people feel the same way.

What's the correct interpretation then? The supreme court already ruled on this issue and concluded that any baby born in the U.S. is a citizen regardless of the status of their parents as long as they are not diplomats of a foreign country.

And me 😊 well, offended no. I'm not offended. I've read through news clippings showing every period in American history has had the people who hate Jews, Irish, polish, "wops", Italians, etc. This is just the next on the block.

Fact stands that this country wouldn't exist in this form if it wasn't for people breeding within these borders. And for every anchor baby out there fighting for legitimacy I'll show you 100 that don't deserve it (simply because of their parents).

No doubt. It's like the current trend is to be as offensive as possible and then act like they are being persecuted the moment somebody calls them out on it.

I thought this was the way it was going when conservatives started throwing around the accusatory "race card" insult anytime a person called them out on being racist. It's like "I know you are but what am I?" PeeWee logic.

They are also often the same people who confuse calling them out on asshattery with attacking the 1st amendment, as if everybody calling you a jerk automatically means anti-jerk legislation is passed.

Example 2: He has passed judgment on people he does not know. He has decided that they are not worthy of legitimacy in our country. This is his opinion. And a rather damaging(as well as nonsensical) one at that.

Sums it up quite well man. It is damaging how their ideology is perceived. In the future people will look back and say that they were idiots for saying these things. Internet historians will dig through the archives of old webpages and find their rant detailing why evolution is not real. And they will say it was just a mainstream idea of the 2000s.

It is stupid and, at times, it seems like it is intentionally so.

I reckon it's a hit on nativist, xenophobic bigots that don't realize that if we had the same immigration laws we had when most of their ancestors came in, then most of today's illegal immigrants would be legal immigrants too.

It is I, the child of a man who's parent came here without papers. They ran numbers for the mob as teens, built skyscrapers for New Yorkers as men. They bled and died on the shores of Normandy and on the "numbered hills" of Korea. I'm nothing but a useless 3rd generation anchor baby. And when they come for my child, the love of my life, and her immigrant mother, they will learn of my love for the 2nd amendment 😉
