Did you watch the video?
How do you feel about the subject?

Yes I watched the videos.
I felt pretty awful and have seen worse too.
I think because we're so used to violence as a society perhaps we have become kind of numb to this level of violence and often people find it hard to distinguish between real life and movie/video game violence... some of the comments in the main thread about this were just unbelievable and kind of shows how desensitised some people are.
It still shocked me and it was very sad and my heart goes out to those families.

When I was 15, my friend and I got his older sister to rent 2 "Faces of Death" movies. I think it was "Best of" and "Classic". We both kinda regretted it. Ever since then, I have no more morbid curiosity about such things. It's not that I can't handle it, I just don't need to see it.
I understand what swanne says but I feel I already understand that form of darkness, and visual displays arent going to help me understand or acknowledge its existence any more than I already do. Even if I do need to see it, every now and then I come across something by accident. Although I certainly do not judge others for choices they make which do no harm to anyone or anything.

What?
I wonder is why would you or anyone feel the need to watch a person being shot / killed?
I love graphic video games and I'm a huge fan of horror movies but they are pretend.
Watching a video of a person dying is to me morbid.

How was I rude or "desensitised"?
I thought I was generally respectful.
At least I don't watch a murder. (or post a murder video.)

I didn't say anywhere that you were rude or desensitised.... are you feeling OK?

Maybe I've been desensitized. Not by video games or movies but by things I've actually seen with my own eyes (family member suicide). I watched the videos and they didn't really effect me beyond anger. I wasn't appalled, shocked, grossed out, nothing.
People are going to watch what they want to watch. The person who posted the vide is the one who concerns me.
