I like scallop but have never had conch, as far as I know. I could have eaten it and didn't know it was conch.

You'll run across it occasionally down in Florida.

And sometimes a sushi restaurant will get some as a special.

I like to take opportunities to explore when I can.

Agreed, true starvation will destroy any emotive righteous ideas of altruism.
It sounds warm and wooly but I don't buy it, the will to survive is strong when one is desperately starving.

I remember watching the vegetarian on Survivor ... yeah, that was fun.
Lol, true

I find it hard to imagine the OP being desperately starving hungry and actually refusing my offer of say slow roasted stray cat. That will to survive is strong for all of us eventually.

You should take a bison loin to he butcher of your choice and have them add a pound of bacon to it and make ground beef from it.

I would not eat a predator animal.

All herb mashers though... Those I consume with glee!

Gator is amazing. Cubed deep fried and thrown in buffalo sauce.

Also turtle. Usually in soup.

Sea urchin, or uni is a delicacy eaten raw

Crabmeat stuffed frog legs

And squid. Pan fried over squid ink pasta.

I love food and playing with flavors. That being said monkey would be my last choice to eat.

Did you know fish eyes are reserved for the head of the household or honored gust in most South American countries?

I'll kill and eat any animal if I'm hungry enough, that includes primates.
I don't understand how you can consider some worth killing yet others not.
It all seems a bit hypocritical to me but hey, enjoy your tree bark in a sustained famine situation lol.

Actually pine bark is high in vitamin c and can be made into a variety of things. wont make you fat, but it'll keep you alive. And I was with you, with the kill anything to eat it, if it's to survive.. the bit where you bag on bark eating people as somehow lesser, makes me think it's not survival that you see as giving you the right to eat even primates.

I ate a gold covered peacock egg in a bowl of beating snake hearts.

That makes me the higher evolved animal.

Beef, pork, fish, lamb and chicken are the only meats I can bring myself to eat.

I'd eat all of those except Monkey, as they carry a myriad of awful diseases.

It's sad that this is the only reason you would not kill and eat an intelligent animal that could communicate with you if you so much as tried...

sad.. :/

I've knowingly eaten dog in Asia, along with deep fried tarantulas and bats.
I eat animals so that's the end of the story, if a living thing is not my species and I'm hungry enough I don't discriminate.

You had the option to not eat dog, seeing as you knowingly ate it, and I doubt very much that there was some shortage of every other food in the world that forced you to eat dog.

pathetic.

hope you enjoyed it, funny the guy above joked about bark eaters.

I'm not even smiling when I say anyone who knowingly eats a dog or a cat or any of the domesticated animals we know in a civilised world, then you suck.. simple.

Nope, that is your invention alone, but yeah, I'd kill a primate over eating bark in a sustained famine condition.
You imagine the added value to my comments.

Soul power, you'd eat almost anything you say you wouldn't if you were starving. Not just "ready for dinner," but truly starving. I'll bet on it.

This I agree with. We push our limits when ours are pushed. And I've said the opposite too, that there is a majority of people who Hoorah the fact they eat meat, like some sloven pig ecstatically slopping in their own muck, that if you said "Go kill a cow, bleed it, prepare it and make dinner." that they'd wet themselves and cry for a bag of burger rings.

I will kill for necessity. I won't kill for sport or fun. If it is a shtf situation and it's me or you... it's me. and I will eat you.

but if Im just at your place for a bbq I'm not going to eat your Persian cat and claim "But I wuz hungry..." and expect it to float... sorry you guys who eat exotic things, you're useless and you know it.. hence your need to be pathetic.

I am well adjusted, unlike the person who enjoys eating things for the sake of eating them, and cannot see how wrong this is in a world full of excess.. well thats the problem.. you wouldnt know the problem if it hit you..

Nope, I eat animals and I only discriminate if I have a personal attachment to an individual animal.
If I don't then they're good for the pot, although I would only kill a dog or primate if I needed to.
You bleat about my dog in rural Asia, why? I wasn't in a place relying on tourists to eat their dog dishes.
They eat dogs and it was on the menu, already killed., I ate it and enjoyed it.

I appreciate your sensitive feelings about such things but we don't share them so carry on moaning about it if you like, I won't be agreeing with you anytime soon lol.

I really must live in la la land, up with the fairy's, yeah? There are far too many barbarians around here. Enough to make me want a gun to protect myself, in case one of you weirdos gets drunk or goes nuts and wants to caveman all over society..

"Me human, me eat anything me like. ugh unga bunga Me KING OF ALL ANIMAL!!!!"

Trust me, I don't hold the sanctity of human life that special. I know our existence is limited by the very nature shown here in this thread, the arrogant selfish nature of the individual human... it doesn't care about anything except itself.

So I know we're self limited, because these people outweigh anything else. We'll over consume, abuse and waste this planet. and then die. But life will kick on, and while we may have caused the extinction of countless countless life forms, new life will arise.

eat me, you pigs..

That you value a dog so little, says it all to me. That these countries still eat dog, makes me sick. I would not relish in it. No more than if I were in Phuket and ... well you imagine what sort of crap is legal there, so it must be ok to brag about it.....

If you dont eat a dog, then it's only good for pot? Are you trying to say that if you didn't eat it, it would have been thrown out?

You would never have the right to ever touch a dog of mine. You're a vile thing. If you had been starving, and to survive.. maybe.. but you ate an animal that has been raised along with humans for centuries.. and you don't even care.

I just can't even consider that. I'd have felt sick. but it shows me that I do indeed live on a planet with monsters..

God gave the grape, the wine to make, to please both great and small.
but little fools then drink too much, and big ones not at all..

My my, have a cup of tea, it could help you chill out.
I already said it was far from the beaten tourist track, not Phuket lol, I was at the Laos/China border, only white face in town. They offered me a dog dish so seeing as it was already dead and cooked, I ate it and it tasted lovely.

Your argument is purely emotional, but carry on ranting about me if you like, I find it amusing.

*Edit*
Oh, and horse is far superior to beef. I eat it quite often, a local French deli sells it.
...just so you can imagine the monster you must think I am lol

It is terribly disconcerting the attitude you have displayed, I think the OP was trying to portray a tongue in cheek reference to how even though some animals are off limits to them, they share a hypocrisy for enjoying the taste of other animals.

I happen to agree with the premise that there are limits and that while I am not vegetarian there are only so many animals that I would consume in dire events.

I would rather eat tree bark, too, than eat your choices, dire or not.
