If you don't think the current american government is oppressive, you must be young and brainwashed by a corrupt educational system.
This case applies to the whole world, not just the US, so if Microsoft is seen as acting against any countries' laws they will get problems.Or do you really think all other countries will accept something like what has been said on this thread?

I have Windows XP running on my old tower. I have Windows Vista Basic running on my old laptop. Should I worry?

Yeah, I'll pass...
Still sittin' on Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit. I hated Windows 8, and it looks like I'll hate Windows 10, too. Windows 10 is their attempt at trying to make you forget about Windows 8.
First issue was the hibernate/sleep not working at all anymore, so I had to hold the power button down to reboot, or restart after the laptop attempted sleep mode. Basically it was either full on or full off no in between.

If you are scared that you are being spied on in Windows, open command prompt, type in netstat -a -n and hit enter. Research who owns each IP you are connecting to, research the ports being used. Doubt anyone will find anything malicious in Windows 10, but Windows XP and 7 some of you will find malware that connects back to Russia and or China.
All I can say is if they don't find a lot of data from somewhere to fill up those humongous data halls, they spent billions for nothing. That doesn't seem likely. You'll likely not find proof of what the NSA is up to exactly, but you can find proof of the size of the data halls, etc, so somewhere one must use deductive reasoning to fill in the gaps.

Katherine Albrecht: Windows 10 Is Full Blown Electronic Tyranny
www.youtube.com...
Folks, if you value your privacy and you have Windows 10 you should remove it as soon as possible.
When you agree to windows TC, you are agreeing for them to turn on your microphone. Windows 10 has a keyboard program that records all your information, including emails, your financial information, your online Banking, letters you have wrote, your online shopping, all your web searches. If you are having a company meeting and your computer is in the same room it is recording everything that is said. if you are discussion a new product, people on the other end have all your information before you go public. Windows 10 records everything you type and what you say in your room. And the people snooping in your computer, NSA can back up all your information and use it how they want too.
Also stop using G-mail and Google.
Please take the time and Liston to the above video.
From what Katherine Albrecht says, she believes Microsoft is going to remove some of these features in a newer version because to many people found out and are removing windows 10 and are installing Win 7.
Is anyone using Windows 10 on ATS? and why?
Microsoft is pushing KB3075249 and KB3080149 updates for Windows 7/8/8.1 users which can spy on you Windows 10 has been launched and already installed by more than 50 million users worldwide. It is now a known fact that Windows 10 user data is being reported back to Microsoft servers back in Redmond. The jury is still out whether this a good or bad practice but many of Windows 10 Apps like Cortana depend on getting your preferences correct to serve you better. This being the case, many Windows users who are not happy with Windows 10 spying ways and have preferred to stay on with Windows 7/Windows 8 and Window 8.1 as the case might be. For these Windows 7/8/8.1 users there are a few updates which Microsoft has been pushing through last few days.
a notice for windows 10 showed up one day on my computer I think it was in may.I haven't downloaded anything that has to do with it but I don't know how to remove the icon.
I have another question since we are talking about computers for anyone who may know more about them than I do which is probably everyone, lol. One day in the spring I had whats called "command prompt" show up all by itself(turned it on and there it was) I don't have a clue as to why or what it's doing on my computer.I do know it's something to do with easy access to files that's about it.I tried to look it up but it was all gobbly gook to me.
anyone?
