It crosses all religions and cultures and is basic common sense. It's been around as long as humans existed.

Just look at our society and see if people are actually treating others as one would like others to treat oneself.

And ask yourself if ethics, morality exists.

I would say they do, but they are quite fluid depending on the environment your in, when I was working for a multi national media company I didn't care about leaving them even though I knew they would have to find someone else, which would cost time and money, but when I left the charity I worked for I did care about them finding a replacement and did my best to help them. Just a small example. I don't see too much immorality in British culture apart from the behaviour of some of our politicians and establishment. On the whole, people tend to get on and there are more good people than what I would consider bad

Politicians are the ugly reflection of the people they represent.

I will caveat that morality and ethics are in the eye of the beholder.

If you're seeing a standard maintained then that's good, I suppose.

Perhaps my view on society isn't as optimistic as yours.

I see ATS as an intellectual playground.

It is a forum designed originally to explore conspiracies.
To look beyond the obvious,
to dig deep into things,
to not take anything at face value.

That is why it is dangerous to a person
to take personally anything anyone says on ATS,
really almost no one is directing anything to you personally.
To most people on ats you are an anonomyous name,
someone they don't think about when not online.
A few have gone offline to get to know each other.
But for most, I think, the people we respond to are
ideas and concepts that have been expressed by the
people, and responses are, in my opinion, generally
not directed at others personally.

A handful, and I know who they are, get all
tangled up with their emotions and
project emotions on others that are not there.
I realize it is hard sometimes to realize that the
person you are chatting with is challenging not you
not the real you, not the person you, but the ideas
you express.
The few people who do take things personally, I
eventually stop replying because they really start
to believe I am talking about them personally,
when I don't even know them at all and know
nothing about them personally to make any
judgement call on.

This is who I am, I taught a Sunday School class
yesterday and you should have seen the ruckus.
You can imagine, I dared to use only 2 verses
and got people really riled up that I spoke
on epigenetics and how the bible reflects
what we have learned in epigenetics. I challenged
them because I said how much science
reflects what is in the bible and whew.
A bunch want me to teach again
and some were red in the face.
That is me. I love to play with ideas and to
push people to the limits of their thinking
when they are willing to engage me.

Please, with Beezer, he too is not attacking you personally
I am familiar with his quick wit and brilliant insights.
To reply with personal attacks are not warranted, as he
is not personally attacking anyone with his wit,
he too is attacking ideas,
not the personhood of who he is sparring with online.

So before you get upset, because you are a sensitive soul,
take a deep breath and step back, wait a little while,
and realize that most- nearly all - people who reply to
you are not replying to YOU personally, but to the ideas
you express. Which are two entirely different entities
for the vast majority on ATS. We don't know you personally
and you don't know us.

BTW, one thing I do know about Beezer from a few lines
here and there is that he is extremely generous and has
taken in people and has helped people in many very
kind and awesome ways.

As for online persona's, most people are not who they
are in real life. That is true for nearly every forum.
Most people would never say in real life the things
they say online. You can see that in the horrific things
people say after news articles that get so very ugly.
Please, and I mean this sincerely, assume that no one
on ATS is attacking you personally, no one knows you
as a person and no one knows the real you, they are
speaking to a larger audience. Their responses to you
are not about you, they are about your ideas, and
we would not be online if we wanted one on one banter.
I for one want to challenge all the lurkers who read this,
all the pundents who influence what is on TV and radio
to read what I write. It is a real way to change the world.
It is how memes that change the world get started.

I have after a few years now seen memes that began on
ATS spread into TV and radio. It is exciting. So most
responses to you are NOT to you specifically. Please
calm your soul and realize that most people are not
out to hurt you personally at all.


You better read this fast, because if a mod comes along,
wooosh, all this dialogue will be wiped away in a flash
as off topic!

I was thinking about it and the majority of people I've met this year have been really good people. I don't remember meeting anyone I considered bad or immoral. I've not witnessed anything immoral recently, not to say I haven't seen some bad stories in the media and ats, but that's not real life. It's generally a massive exaggeration on real life. I mean look at all the doom porn on ats, we both know the worlds not coming to end , but some people are absolutely convinced. It's their reality.

Then you should declare that you are playing "devil's advocate" clearly. This habit of yours to be an "absurdist" who is not genuinely authentic is entrapment....and an "experiment".

I've seen people get banned for admitting "I was just playing, doing an experiment."

AUTHENTICITY is the only game I know, aside from "improv" where I know what the person's "role" is, ahead of time, and approach the dialogue as such.
You did not disclose (before now) that you are "playing" with people, and 'practicing' "absurdism."
It's quite offensive, to tell you the truth....and it is IMMORAL, and UNETHICAL.

Seriously, look at what has happened with Snapchat in the past. I found a video about it on youtube.. Many people have lots of fun with the Snappening (happening for Snapchat), but there are so many dark secrets about that Snappening. It is shared around all the time, while containing lots of child pornography... Even though people know this now, it would be moraly just to stop sharing, downloading etc. But nothing is done, also not to prevent this kids from sending sexual content. It's outragous.
