Anchorite's Introduction

Hello to all.
Let me begin by admitting right up front that I am incredibly new at this entire process. I’m literally trying to figure out what all the various buttons do and frankly it’s a little intimidating. Other than craigslist I don’t think I’ve ever posted anything at all, so if I end up crashing your servers or something, I’ll apologize in advance.
I only recently came across this site and became quite fascinated with it. There appear to be some very knowledgeable people here on a wide variety of topics, but I’m sure that’s no surprise to anyone else here.
I’m a 54 year old married guy with a few experiences and more than a few questions. ATS looks like it might be an excellent place to share some of those experiences and ask some of those questions. Wish me luck.

In between the "it never happened to me" and "proof or it didn't happen" types, you'll find that some come here to learn more about it, just like you and I.

Welcome and be prepared to be astonished at the variety and illusions often posted. Within the muck and mire , you will find wondrous truths and blunt mannerisms. You will be a most welcome asset and hopefully enjoy the site. There are quite a few intelligent persons, that hang within , and their post are worth the read.. Remember take it all with a grain of salt and have fun. Looking forward to your many posts.

Welcome, Anchorite, from an erstwhile hermit in the city. I am glad you found your way here. ATS takes a bit of sifting and a lot of tolerance. A glass of wine helps.

Sometimes when you hit upon something distressing you didn't know, it can really floor you. We have all been there. Just remember that there is hardly a person here who doesn't want humanity to survive and thrive. (And there are those who are here to make mischief, but they are easy to spot not unlike every other website and forum out there today.)

Welcome! I hope those buttons don't give you to much trouble. But if they do I'm sure you'll be able to find someone to help you out. If you really struggle with that sort of thing maybe check the newbs adoption thread?
