Greetings all. Stumbled across this footage reportedly taken in Tokyo in 1948. Firstly I was stunned by the quality considering when it was taken.
Secondly, it got me thinking whether or not technology was that advanced. Any thoughts?
It was shot on film.
Cleaner crisper footage but It looks like the film has kept very well and has not too many scratches on or has been played often.
Oh and hats I think they will come back into fashion soon.
they had high end cameras during and after WWII, and shot in black and white and color to.
as monkey said the quitly of the film degrades the more it is watched and gets scratched.
here is some of hitler, if you look at the resolution you will see that it is pretty good, but if you notice you'll see black spots and streaks
running through it, that is the film it's self.
posted the wrong one, hold on i'll find it.
