I know the whole issue of the bible code being real is a huge discussion base, both pro and con. But assuming the bible code is real, does anyone know if a bible code search has been done to see if the tsunami in the Indian Ocean has been found? The devistation and loss of life is horrific. Surely there should be some mention of it in the bible code.

I'm sure you could find it in there, any book that large will have "hidden" words i n it, but just dont think too much about it

The Bible Codes are silly fiction at best. Someone took Moby Dick and found very accurate "codes" referring to very specific things, so either you believe in the Bible having codes, AND Moby Dick, or you accept the fact that these Bible codes function on the basic fundamentals of probability. Remember, the mantra here is deny ignorance, and that phrase goes both ways.

not totally true, i watched the specials on the history channel tonight on this, and it turns out that the chances of certain events being close to each other is slim, and the closer that these words are to each other the less likely it is true... And apparently the bible codes are so incredibly close together that it is mathematically unthinkable that it would actually exist the way it does in the bible, and that it would actually be in the bible. Moby Dick only had a few things written in it, and those numbers statistically are significantly smaller and much more plausible. But i don't believe in it either way.

I don't by it. Plus don't believe everything the history channel says, all of their programs are filled with little propaganda messages from the creators, theyre not very reliable.

"Jesus was an alien"
"The bible code is real!"
"hitlers still alive and his son is Carson Daily!"

I mean, its all just propaganda. You can find such combinations ANYWHERE in a large book, people have done it with Moby dick and War and Peace, and it's come as close asthe bible in sparatity, closeness to the words, etc.

Its just a bunch of garbage, and so are those history channel shows. not very accurate or truthful. Don't always believe everything you see and hear on Television.

Here is your bible code: exodus2006.com...

I am not exactly sure how this bible code stuff is placed on the website timing wise, but I don't really recall it being there the last time I was at this site
.

If you want to look at some other codes: exodus2006.com...

Edit- I really don't know what is wrong with me...

o.k..... ''Here is your bible code: exodus2006.com...''

1) should we just take the persons word for it that those hebrew symbols actually say what you think they say.

2) i don't think when the bible was written the word 'tsunami' even existed in the hebrew language.

3) what a load of bollocks. i cant believe people still think the bible code shows predictions etc. in moby dick it had stuff like kennedy, assasination, one gunmen etc stuf like that. in a book like the bible ofcourse you can find stuff in there if you look hard enough. look if i take this letter from that page and then a few letters from there it spells hitler and war!!! ooo nooooo!

There was a cyclone that hit bangolore india that killed 500,000 people in 1976. An earthquake in chine in the 70s-80s killed 200,000. Not trying to belittle the horror show over there, but if its in the 'bible codes' then those things should be too. Lots of disasters should be.

This would only demonstrate how useless the bible codes are, since no one was able to find the event before hand, nor if they had, have any sort of useful information to stop it.

In fact, they wouldn't be able to distinguish between it and 'expected predictions' that are going to be in large texts.

So how do you distinguish between the things that are expected to accidently be there and the 'divinely coded' codes? All the codes in the bible code do is cross over each other. jfk will cross over killed and what not. There are lots in the bible becuase there are lots more people looking for them, and, i would bet, there is more interpretative lee way when using hewbrew text.

apparently theres going to be asteroid after asteroid hitting the earth up untill 2012. also in the bible code apparently there are many predictions that show the end of the world all again up untill 2012. i guess when we get to 2013 we can write off this bull# once and for all

Problems with the bible code...

1. The bible is made up of MANY different books.
2. The bible has been translated, and indeed edited, over thousands of years.
3. There are many books that were considered, but then excluded from the bible.
4. The current bible is an edited edition just so a King could legitimize a divorce.
5. In translating the books that were included, many different translators have many different takes on how they interpret different words and concepts.

Given all of the above, if there ever WAS a bible code (which is dubious at best), then it certainly would not have survived enough throughout all of this to make one lick of sense now...

I didn't mean for this to be a slam-session about the bible code. But if teh bible code is indeed a real thing, I would imagine something of this devistation (meaning the recent tsunami in Asia) would be mentioned in it. The bible code mentions the WTS twin tower attack. This is far more devistating.

Does anyone have access to the program that finds things in it? I'd love for them to do a search on tsunami or 2004 or Indian Ocean, etc. It would be a great way to help prove the validity of the bible code.

first off any program you do get... how to you know whoever made the program hasn't just programmed codes and words already. also the fact that it's hebrew, so you woudn't know for sure if 'tsunami' and 'many killed' came up that it in fact was even those words in hebrew. you can probably get a decent program that would search words in the bible, of course you'd have to pay. afterall this is all just a big money earner for some people! ahhh bible code... *everyone rushes out to buy a bible, looks on the the internet for membership prices to sites about the bible code and pays to download the program to even search for themselves

It seems a lot of bible code predictions deal with political issues
like wars
and attacks
and presidential races
and conspiracies

Generally all negative stuff.
Or is that all we are interested in?

To put it simply, I do not think that the Bible codes were created in order to find nice things out. One of the things that would show this is pretty much the whole end of the world deal. If you are going to set a date for the beginning of the end of times, then would it not seem pointless to include good news if there even is any?

Other than that, they are a bunch of
who look for words in books.
In fact, it reminds me of that episode of the Simpons where Homer is looking for messages in the newspaper.

If you are a Christian (or not) and are worried about the outcome of these codes then go here. It provides some religious evidence as to why the codes are false.
