One swedish guy filmed this on August 9th while on a flight over the Swedish island "Öland".

tv.aftonbladet.se...

Short translation from Swedish:
The object came from above, made two turns, then flew parallel to the aircraft for a while.
The witness estimated the size of the object to 10-20 times larger than a Boeing 767.
He reported it to UFO Sweden.

Pause at 16 seconds and you see what appears to be meteors in the Perseid meteor shower from Aug. 9th.

Possibly an effect of the sunlight at that latitude coupled with St. Augustine's tears?

Its a decent sighting of something unidentified but ultimately... it look like condensation streaks from a regular old airplane. He sounds credible, but I see nothing that support it being "10-20 times larger than a 767". Especially not at his estimated 2km meter distance. I have seen larger streaks from the ground.

When the camera panned up you can see a meteor shower occurring.

Sort of looks like a short contrail.

I wouldn't know what to make of it in light of that. What is that thing, Phage? Looks like something burning in.

I've never noticed a contrail that started wide and then gotten narrower... don't they usually spread out?

Also, aren't they more prevalent at high altitude?

In daylight?
Looks more like spots on the window being blurred by camera motion.

No. One example:

What makes you think this wasn't at a high altitude?

It's a short contrail from a jet.

No actually, it doesn't, the camera clearly pans down as the objects are shown in parallel motion.

The camera shakes. And the autofocus switches to the window itself.

Tell me, have you seen a lot of meteor showers?

I do think this was shot at high altitude, hence why the contrail should be MORE prevalent.

Yes, it is, thank you, I've found the article on CS.

The "prevalence" of contrails is not dependent upon altitude. It is dependent upon the atmospheric conditions at altitude.

More short contrails:

Yes, but not from Sweden.

You think it would be different in Sweden?
