I don't believe that poppy is actually a drug reference, but it truly was the first thing that popped into my head the first time I heard it. Kind of shows what my perception of the guy is. I still think a nickname designated for a male elder is an odd name for a girl. Then again, look at the times we are living in. You're right. It's me that is odd.

GHW Bush lived in Midland, TX. They moved there when GW was young. Believe it or not, Barbara Bush was a looker back in the day. Yeah, i know....

Anyway, "Papi" is a common term for your child. "Mama" is another term i hear a lot from the in laws. Papi Chulo, etc.
