If a member's avatar is gone AND all of their info (flags, stars, etc.)
and all that's left is their name on a grey screen...have they been banned?

I DID search and couldn't find this specific answer...

Thanks in Advance!

Oh no!
Is that a "forever" ban do you think?!

Yes.If all that stuff is gone they're banned. I have a little game I play. I go look at their last post to see why. Sometimes the posts were removed but that in its self says a lot.

I did look up what I could find of their posts last night...
There was no indication in ANY of them so it must have been especially egregious.

I don't remember a hx of bad behavior and their posts were some that I thoroughly enjoyed.
Disappointing...

Thanks for the info!
I will miss them!

Indeed. That is indicative that the member has been permanently banned. If one just has a posting ban all of their stats and stuff still show up and there is no way for you to be able to tell that they are on temporary hiatus. When a member is gone for good... The stats, avatar, etc. are killed in the process.

Yup, a post banned member retains all of their stats, since it's usually resolved within 72 hours. A full account ban will remove all received accolades and grey out the profile permanently.

On some occasions, banned members have appealed to admin and ownership to be re-instated, and have been, therefore returning their profiles to normal.

What if you donated money? Aren't you really a silent partner for helping ATS? The nerve sometimes...lol

How about just don't post vulgar or stuff that isn't allowed and have fun while here? I sure have a blasty blast!

I agree about self moderating it is just odd because I have followed the poster off and on for awhile...

They were never (in my recollection) really inflammatory, vulgar, or rude so it just seems as if they must have "gone off the rails". I am just a sensitive person so in my perspective something BIG must have happened. I hope that person is okay in the sense that if they did "go off of the rails" that they are okay now...

They were a long time member.
I have a blasty blast as well, even if I am not on the same posting level as everyone else! I love to read the forums!

It scared me really.....I am mean but only to the posters I always give a hard time to....I try to take it easier on newer members or people I am not confident can take it honestly...

I can usually tell the members who are "nice" and helpful and they are appreciated.
We are all at different "levels" in this game called life, there's no need to be on attack all the time...LOL

I suppose the question I originally had has been answered and since I think "talking about banned members" is a violation of the rules, I am getting sort of on the edge of that...
I certainly don't want to end up where they are! Although I DO believe it would be fun there...haha!

I appreciate the responses!

The posts don't always give you an idea of what went on. Yes sometimes you'll see a bunch of posts that were removed first, but other times a single post was removed, and then something happened behind the scenes. Or the post that was removed was so over the top that the poster had to be removed. There's usually a lot that goes on, and banning is the absolute last step we take.

Zaph's right -- it might not have been a post/reply, but an actual thread they started that was subsequently removed.
