Holy crap !

That video really shows the full chain reaction, whoever filmed this it seems they were a lot closer than the other videos. There are 3 reporters in the youtube comments already asking the poster for permission to use this video in their next news report.

Here's the translation to english of the poster's description of the video:

"Tanggu Development Zone Fifth Avenue Ruihai dangerous chemical warehouse explosion detonated on the 7th Gate stations"

Is this a U.S. retaliation for the pentagon hack?

The U.S. claimed it was a Russian hack but....send a message?

That is a really naive statement. To think that the US would retaliate with military action out of the blue is absolutely insane.

Oh and to the OP, why you use RT as a source is beyond me. There are without a doubt better sources to use with more accurate and less politically influenced information.

Really? Y is your avatar so dark? Who dew ewe think u r hiding from?

Someone slowed down the clip of the debris flying straight for the camera.

That "chain reaction" looks a lot like an impact followed by a detonation.....

I had thoughts of that one also. In Nevada.

Sitting on a natural gas pipeline no less. Makes a person wonder about the people who build these plants.

Not sure if it's been posted yet but I heard it was a shipping container that had caught fire in the dock. When it exploded, it set off a chain of explosions in the other containers and then a petrol station / fuel yard exploded - That's possibly what the second explosion is.

Been following this since it happened and most sources are now stating that this was a port area containing explosive and flammable materials, but that the initial explosion has caused a series of further explosions affecting various areas of the heavily industrial area.

Reports are saying that hundreds of vehicles are on fire, causing more explosions, along with storage facilities containing chemicals. Public has been advised to close all windows and doors, but it seems those most at risk no longer have windows and doors to close.

Other photos reportedly show hundreds of thousands of people trying to flee the area by road, but no traffic is moving.

The area has been sealed by police and only emergency services are being allowed through, all media are being stopped.

Many buildings within a few miles of the blast area have structural damage, are without power and have had windows and doors blown in by the force.

Various reports of injuries, some reports suggest hundreds, others suggest more than a thousand, with many fatalities.

Nope, it doesn't. It looks like a powerful explosion which could be caused by any one of a number of things.
Do people here not learn from other embarrassing assumptions made on events like this?

"Big bang" does not automatically mean "bomb", and it certainly doesn't mean "nuclear".

Not sure anyone suggested nuclear. (maybe.)

Just saying the video doesn't lie.

No it generally doesn't, but nothing about the videos we have seen suggests any "bomb". The videos people are seeing start after the first explosion (which caused people to start filming the rest). If you see anything falling from the sky in these videos it's more likely to be debris from the first blast.

Having seen most of the videos out there (if not all of them) already, I have seen absolutely nothing that contradicts the statement that this was caused by an industrial accident.

I know what people are like on ATS, they seem to want to glory in an end-of-days fantasy where someone drops a nuke and we all die in an apocalyptic war, they'll even try to distort what we're all seeing to satisfy that perverse craving.

Update suggests that reporters in the area are seeing destroyed buildings 10km away from the blast. This really doesn't look at all good and I'm guessing the death toll is unfortunately going to be considerable.

It will be more than that before the tragedy ends.

Too bad.

I do wish there was a god.
