Sucks that there is an apparent agenda to keep the orb sightings on the fringe, while casting doubt on the observer's character and common sense.

Yeah, I agree.I've commented before that it's unfortunate that the most widely-observed type of "UFO" reported--pretty much throughout history--is the orange pulsating "orb". I say unfortunate because Chinese Lanterns have given them perfect cover. When I say "pulsating" I'm pretty picky. Some folk mistakenly confuse flickering for pulsating.

I have even wondered if the early lanterns were an homage to the real thing. The following thread has a lot of good stuff on the more mysterious and un-ballon-like pulsating and maybe intelligently-controlled Orange Orb.

There are quite a number of cases that apparently feature very similar phenomena.

I've excerpted just a few of the many accounts below. The first one is my favorite because the original author explains the sighting in just about the same terms I've always described mine.

Hawaii, Pacific Aug 12 1825

English naturalist Andrew Bloxam and others saw a large red luminous object rise, illuminating everything. It fell out of sight, rose and fell again: "About half past 3 o'clock this morning the middle watch on deck was astonished to find everything around them suddenly illuminated.

"Turning their eyes eastward they beheld a large, round, luminous body rising up about 7 degrees apparently from the water to the clouds, and falling again out of sight, and a second time rising and falling: it was the color of a red-hot [cannon] shot and appeared about the size of the Sun…It gave so great a light that a pin might be picked up on deck."


Hamburg, Germany Dec 15, 1547

Historian Simon Goulart…writes that on that day the sailors who were aboard ships in the harbor of Hamburg saw in the air, at midnight, a glistening globe as fiery as the Sun. It rolled towards the north, emitting much heat…

Paris, France Feb 1382

Before the Maillets uprising, a fiery flashing globe was seen for a period of eight days, "roaming from door to door above the city of Paris, without there being any wind agitation nor lightning or noise of thunder, and on the contrary, the weather never ceased to be serene.

Iena, Germany 13 Jun, 1554

A large number of spheres and disks flew over the city of Iena. They had sudden variations of speed and turned to a red color as they flew north.

Prague, Czechoslovakia 1619

The inhabitants of the village…[and] the village Priest was with them about 10 pm…looking up at the sky he could see a globe that resembled the moon, but fiery. It divided into two parts, and one of the parts divided into four smaller globes. (As the villagers and the Priest watched the globes would fade out gradually and then after a little bit some of the globes would pulse back into visibility.)

Actually, no we don't just throw the baby out with the bath water, but over the years, we have seen just about every hoax imaginable. Whether the OP is sincere in thinking they are UFOs, in no way proves they are. Skeptics? Damn right!
With all the tech available to Joe Public, everyone and their mother is making "UFO" videos and claiming to have the "Real Truth" and are making legitimate UFO research a joke. The human mind and eyes are easily fooled, so it's up to us as a group to weed out the mistakes. If the videos can't stand up to close examination, then..........

Right. Videos are no good because they are hoaxes. Photos are out because they're shopped. Eye witness accounts fail because nobody can trust you. If a large group saw something, it was mass hallucinations.

Hoaxers are taking over the world. Run!

The orbs have visited me at some key times in my life. Sometimes to inspire and ease the loneliness. At times I've introduced others to this phenomenon.

If the situation is right, they will appear on cue. It's always nice when that happens.

Apparently no one, if you don't have witnesses, and you send off the pictures, you have a big old mess on your hands.

According from whatever b.s. department created back in the 1950's, you need a witness, funny how no one ever told e.t. that.

Of course there is no we can, talk to e.t. about this one. So if you don't have any witnesses, you might as well flush them down a toile bowl and say nothing about what you saw. If you have witnesses, the blow hards determin whether something is real or not, they don't really care if it was only you that took the picture, screw them and the horse they rode in on.

MUFON are set up as an organisation to tell people to MOVE ON (MUFON??)

They do NOTHING!!! They collect your data and say, "THANKS VERY MUCH! SEE YOU NEVER!"

It's a way of making people feel as though they have done something, in contacting a non-government agency. When in actual fact they have done nothing.

I contacted MUFON to give them not only videos of UFO's in Australia, but also to report that I am in contact with these things and they could come speak to them directly. SPEAK .. TO .. THEM!!

Think about this for a second ... I offered them the ability to come and COMMUNICATE with the whole rainbow of coloured orbs (Red, Dark blue, Light blue, Green, Orange, White, and black .. Yes, there are black orbs! Sometimes all at once) ... and gave them video proof that they were here as I told them they were ... THE HOLY GRAIL FOR UFO HUNTERS ... and they ignored me!!!

Even after I gave them evidence of things that no-one is supposed to know in this world.

Still ignored.

They did NOTHING! They ignored the reports sent to EVERY ONE OF THEIR EMAILS completely.

They are a joke organisation. Set up for disinformation and to sate peoples needs to 'tell someone'.

You are better off putting them on YouTube and reporting them to EVERYONE BUT .. MUFON!!!

MOVE ON ... Nothing to see with them!

Thanks for the heads up. I've been contacted by Bill Puckett(?) I've sent him the vids. I don't know if he works for MUFON but he is interviewed on their site. He is going to post them on www.ufosnw.com(MUFON related?)

I posted a UFO encounter on the MUFON site a few years ago. I was careful to check for grammar and spelling errors before I made my submission.

When it finally appeared on their website, my words had been butchered to make me sound like a complete idiot.

I complained, but never got any response. Like most other websites that claim to be looking for the truth, MUFON exists to hide the truth.

No tripod? The video is too shaky and not worth watching!

No reference points? Inconclusive!

Chinese lanterns! (Everything China has produced is crap, besides those lanterns. They're aeronautically miraculous, and account for most orb sightings!)

Whatever you do OP, don't add music to the video. It's automatically dismissed because.... well that's just a rule!

Oh and the number one answer ad nauseum is, of course, drones. Orange ones no doubt.

Camera phone video taken at night of dots of light not a good start then uploaded to youtube makes it worse, it will be interesting to see if you have done better than others but with the limitations of the above I will be surprised.

A few weeks ago during that Blue Moon, I was driving to work (live in Ohio, work third-shift) and looking at the big red moon in the sky, about half-way to work straight ahead of my car there were six bright orange lights (like fireballs sorta) in a pyramid formation facing upward, then they like jumbled together and zoomed to the right flank of my car, and aligned themselves into a straight line. Cars behind me were swerving, I think, because they were looking at them, too. It was pretty crazy. I got a few really crappy pictures because the car was moving. I don't know what they were, but I've never seen a plane do that, especially six of them. The instant I saw them I knew something was off by how they looked, but I don't know aerial objects and don't take other peoples explanations seriously.....what ever they were, they were pretty freaking cool to see. First ever sighting of anything remotely weird in the sky.

looking forward to seeing the video. I saw orange orb like balls flying erratically years ago, no nuclear facility near then. Very interesting.

And that is a big part of the problem. Everyone who has seen something odd, now thinks they're a UFO expert. Don't have such an open mind that your brain falls out.
