Why does it need to have a fully realised plot? Why does it need to be about anything other than the characters and their interactions?
I loved this movie (granted haven't seen it for about 7 or 8 years but I loved it the first two times I watched it) and I found it beautiful and
thought the characters (main two) were excellent and familiar and likeable.
A film, like any art, either gets to you, moves you, speaks to you.... or it doesn't.
It's no use coming online and asking people why you should like it or why they like it or to explain it or help you understand it, it's a very
personal experience.
Broken Flowers was a year or two after this, also starring Bill Murray and I LOVED that too.
