Baltimore reached a grim milestone on Friday, three months after riots erupted in response to the death of Freddie Gray in police custody: With 45 homicides in July, the city has seen more bloodshed in a single month than it has in 43 years.
Police reported three deaths – two men shot Thursday and one on Friday. The men died at local hospitals.
With their deaths, this year’s homicides reached 189, far outpacing the 119 killings by July’s end in 2014. Nonfatal shootings have soared to 366, compared to 200 by the same date last year. July’s total was the worst since the city recorded 45 killings in August 1972, according to The Baltimore Sun.
These are just examples of a growing trend of what we think of one another now and how we treat each other on a cultural level.
Think these mentalities are limited to police officers?
What about the 911 caller? "I don't have to put up with this"
How about people on ATS?
"These losers who provide me with services I enjoy regularly Aren't worth any money because I see their skills as useful, even though I still love having these services available."
How about when your driving down the road and some asshole has to ride you for two miles to a prove a point that you weren't driving fast enough for their tastes?
Seems to me like the problem is bigger than police.

I don't know what the real reasons may or may not be.
But the more I hang out on ATS the more I'm starting to think it might have something to do with how much ya'll hate each other.

Obviously that we are killing each other at record lev-. . .
wait, what?
Violent crimes are down?
naaaa. . . . say it ain't so!
www.fbi.gov...[/quot e]
I have to wonder though is it possible that these statistics are skewed ?...i could be way left of field here but i get the impression there is a fair amount of Americans who will not leave the house without being armed, which really does not add up if violent crime is going down ...edit on 1-8-2015 by hopenotfeariswhatweneed because: (no reason given)

They should just impose some strict gun laws.
That'll solve everything.
